Course Project 1-Traffic lights This project operates red, amber and green LEDs in the correct sequence for a single UK traffic light. The time taken for the complete red – red & amber -green - amber sequence can be varied from about 7s to about 2½ minutes by adjusting the 1M preset. Some amber LEDs emit light that is almost red so you may prefer to use a yellow LED. (Hint: Use counter to control lights period). 2-Dice Press the push switch to 'throw' the dice: this makes the circuit rapidly cycle through the dice numbers so that an effectively random dice number is displayed by the LEDs when the push switch is released. (Hint: Use counter). 3-Simple Electronic Lock There are six (or more) push switches. To 'unlock' you must press all the correct ones at the same time, but not press any of the cancel switches. Pressing just one cancel switch will prevent the circuit unlocking and you can try to unlock it again after one minute. When the circuit unlocks it actually just turns on a LED for about one second. Please Note: This circuit just turns on a LED for about one second when the correct switches are pressed. It does not actually lock or unlock anything! 4-Quiz This project can be used for a quiz with up to 4 contestants (or teams). Each contestant has a trigger push-switch and LED. When a trigger switch is pressed it lights the corresponding LED, sounds the buzzer and prevents the other trigger switches from working - therefore showing which contestant was the first to press their switch. A reset push-switch (operated by the quizmaster) cancels the buzzer and switches off the LED so the circuit is ready for the next question. 5-Counting teacher for children The project has two modes: learn and test. In learn mode the child enters any number from 1 to 10 and the number of ON LEDs will equal to the entered number. In test mode the LEDs will be ON randomly and the child will enter the number of the ON LEDs. There is an extra LED to indicate if the answer is true or false. If the answer is false the LEDs won’t change to the next number until the child enters the true one
