MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY by Daniela Cvetanovski Class 36 Collingwood English Language School March 2003 1 Personal Information My name is Daniela. I am 16 years old. I come from Macedonia, but I was actually born here in Australia. My family went back to Macedonia when I was 2 years old. In my country, I had many good friends. We always walked around our town together, and we looked after each other if things were hard. I was lucky to have such good friends. Another good memory is when my dad took us camping. We went to a really beautiful place next to a river. We went swimming, but the water was freezing! I felt very peaceful and happy at that time. A bad memory is of the war time. I don’t like to talk about that because some people in my family died and I felt very, very sad. I still miss them. Another bad memory is school. The teachers were angry and used to hit the students if they made a mistake. I came to Australia for many reasons. To make the decision was very hard for me. I left my parents, my relatives and my friends on the 29th of May this year. I cried for three days. I think that was the hardest part in all my life. After three days of travelling, I arrived in Australia on the 31st of May. I was very sad and scared but also I was happy. That was the moment when I saw my brother and all my relatives whom I have never seen before in my life. They were very happy too. 2 When we got out of the airport the weather was cold, windy and it was raining like a winter’s day. I was cold and a little bit sleepy because I arrived at about 5 a.m. Two weeks later I started to go to school, where I learned to write, read and speak English. 3
