Safety Procedures Tramaine Reierson 3rd Block 1. To prevent severe injuries, no horse playing is allowed in the classroom. This includes running, jumping, standing on desk and props. 2. Do not plug in any equipment that has a damaged cord or loose wires, inform teacher about the damaged equipment immediately. 3. To avoid tripping, make sure walkways and rows are clear of debris and personal items, keep backpacks under desk. 4. To prevent props from collapsing on students, make sure all props are secured and placed properly in their correct spot. 5. To prevent electrocution, do not touch any button or switches with wet hands. 6. To prevent getting shocked do not place hands, fingers or items that aren’t supposed to be used for electrical purposes in electrical sockets. 7. To avoid damaging equipment, never run with gear, props or equipment. 8. Make sure you always wear shoes that cover your toes, sandals and flip flops leave your toes vulnerable to falling equipment 9. Make sure all vents and fans on equipment are not covered, if these parts are covered they could cause overheating and damage to the equipment. 10. Don’t attempt to stick tools or items in equipment to try to fix it, report the problem to the teacher immediately. 11. Never touch hot surfaces or lightbulbs that are being in used, this could cause severe burns. 12. To prevent damaging props and items, make sure you have a good place to grip the object, don’t hesitate to ask a friend or teacher for help moving the object. 13. Make sure all equipment is stored in its proper place when done using it, this can prevent items from being damaged due to not knowing where it’s placed. 14. In case of a fire make sure there isn’t overcrowding in the control room and suites, crowded rooms prevents students from exiting quick and safely. 15. If a fire occurs tell the teacher immediately, in the meantime find a fire extinguisher and point it at the base of the fire. 16. To prevent loss of hearing, make sure all audio is set at an appropriate listening volume. 17. Food and beverages aren’t allowed in the production room, control room and suites, if a drink was to be spilled on a computer or electrical device it could damage the equipment or device. 18. To prevent tripping and falling make sure all cords are secured correctly, ways to do this are using tape or floor mats to prevent accidents. 19. Never use the equipment in a wet area that could cause damage, this includes using cameras and microphones while it’s raining outside. 20. Don’t put equipment that is on in a closed compartment, this includes its storage case, failure to turn off first before storing it in its proper place can lead to overheating which can cause various problems like a fire.
