TSC Application
Guidelines
What to bring to your appointment
• Proof of ability to work in Canada i.e. Canadian Birth Certificate,
Citizenship card or Certificate, Permanent Resident Card, Work Permit,
Study Permit
• Government Issued Photo ID. If your Passport is valid (not expired,
issued) it must be the ID you use. If you do not have a valid Passport,
other Government issued photo ID can be used i.e. Driver License.
• Proof of BOTH CASAP courses. Must provide the completion email
(printed or on phone) or picture of completion screen for both National
and YYC CASAP
• If you have spent extended time out of Canada visit the Transport
Canada Website Transport Canada Out Of Country Policy to determine if
additional documentation is required

• If you are continuing a previous
application select “YES”.
• If this is the first time filling out
the application (in the last few
months) select “NO”

• When you previously saved your
process, it would have been
saved in a file or sent via email
• Load that file with the choose file
button

• If it is your first application for a
Transport Canada Security
Clearance (TSC) or you have not
held a TSC clearance within the
last 6 months, select “NEW”
• If you currently have a clearance
or have had one in the last 6
months select “RENEWAL”
• Select “Airport”
Requesting Authority
• Select “Calgary Airport Authority”
• Enter the Name of your Signing
Authority as stated by your hiring
company
• Reason for application should be
“Employment”
• Transport Canada has restricted
Job Titles to expediate the
process. Your employer will inform
you of what to enter from the list
• Sponsor = Employer

• Use the Calgary Address of your
employer if possible
Contact Details
• Your Surname or family name as it is
written on your current Identification
document ( i.e. Birth Certificate,
Citizenship, PR Card)
• First Name -The first Given name on
your current Identification document
• Middle Name – all other given names
on your current Identification document
• Last Name at birth- Your Surname or
family name at birth
Applicant Details
Date of Birth- as registered on
your current identification
document
Gender – The gender that you are
currently identify with. Your
gender can differ from what is
indicated on your current legal
documents
Hair Colour – current
Eye Colour – current without
modification i.e. coloured contacts
• For any name change (marriage,
adoption, alias, separation)
Check “Yes”
• Click on the plus sign to record
all name changes
Name History Cont.
Birthplace or Citizenship
• Anyone born in Canada must fill
out their birth certificate
information
• The province of issue and
province of birth may be
different
• If your passport has expired it is
not considered valid.
• Lost or stolen passports are
considered valid and need to be
physically replaced prior to your
application appointment
Birthplace or Citizenship Cont.
• Point of Entry – Border crossing
used (city, airport, port,
Canada/US Border crossing
name)
• Naturalized Canadian – did not
receive a Canadian Birth
Certificate, including Canadians
born abroad.
Marital Status
• Fill out all applicable information
Marital Status Cont.
• If “Unknown” is selected an
explanation of Why unknown was
selected is required. This does not
guaranteed that Transport Canada
will not contact the individual for
more information which could delay
the application process. It is
recommended that all information is
gathered before the application
process is started.
• If your Partner has yet to immigrate
to Canada select “Unknown” for port
of entry and state that Partner has
yet to Immigrate
Criminal History
• Fill our all applicable information
Education
• Advise if you have been
registered in an education
program in the last 5 years
• Advise if you attended postsecondary outside of Canada
within the last 5 years
Education Cont.
• If multiple educational
institutions were attended, use
the “Save and add another”
button instead of “Save
Information”
Residences
• List all addresses that you have
occupied in the last five years
• Indicate your primary residence
Residences Cont.
• The Street Number and Street
name must be in different boxes
• For Countries outside of Canada
and the US postal codes are not
mandatory
• If travel is over 90 days
combined include all travel
outside of Canada you will need
to add one address for each
location to your residences
Employment
• If possible, use local address
instead of head office
• If unemployed, use home
address for the time period,
providing another entry if
Primary Residence changed
• If employment location does
not match living location,
you will have to provide an
explanation in on the
printed form
Travel
• If you have travelled for more
than 90 days combined out of
Canada and the US select “Yes”
and add your travels
• If you have not traveled for more
than 90 days select “No”
Summary
• Once complete, save or
print your application
• You will need a printed
copy of your application
for your Pass Office
appointment
• You can save your
progress at any time to
be completed or printed
on a later date
