Historians use many tools to construct the past. Books, letters, diaries, artifacts, pictures, and many
other sources offer a means to better understand what life was like during a given time period. Once all
forms of research has been exhausted, what should one do with the information gathered? Options
include books, papers, film, and museums. Museums have a long history dating back to at least ancient
Greece, and possibly further.
TaskObjectives-
You will create a virtual museum exhibit using PowerPoint
To gain a further understanding of life in post-Civil War America (Gilded Age and
Progressive Era)
Requirements- Create a virtual gilded age museum that includes:
A minimum of 24 artifacts with at least 5 different types of artifacts
 Photographs
 Paintings
 Newspaper headlines
 Video clips
 Letters/diaries/journals
 Text of speeches
 Government legislation
 Posters (advertising, propaganda, etc.)
A description of the artifact and its importance/relevance to your topic
A brief biography of the curators including a picture/image
