Introduction: The love of recording everything through my camera has been growing as the years pass. Senior high school years have served as my blooming years for I have been given the chance to enhance my “skills” in filming. I also learned how to edit and manipulate the clips which was why I was a self-proclaimed director slash editor. I was proud of myself and looking back at it makes me want to do it again and feel the fire that still burning. I was behind the camera all those years and this project will serve as an opportunity to feel that “main character vibes”. The concept of my film will be dark and euphoric. I want to show those countless burnouts and breakdowns due to online classes and pandemic. The euphoric clips will include how my life went pre-covid years. I will shoot everything after the midterm period, which will be on the third week of March. Since I have no professional camera like DSLR, I believe that my camera’s phone can do the job. I want to do it all by myself that’s why I will be needing a tripod during shooting. After shooting everything, editing the clips is a must. This will be challenging for me because I haven’t used my editing app for two years in a row. The film will depict two movements of art. First is expressionism for I will show dark, and eerie clips at the beginning. It is focused on depicting a subjective version of the horror and anxiety in modern life. Dutch angle will be used which was originated in Germany where it has been widely used during the movement of expressionism had taken hold. The next movement will be modernism. Modernism in cinema was concerned with everyday life and perception. Techniques to be used are panning and flashbacks which played major roles in shaping modernist films. Page 1 of 3 Objective: The main purpose of my film is to fully express my feelings, burnouts, experiences, and thoughts in the middle of pandemic. Also, I want to know if my passion in filming and editing is still burning. Materials: Equipment Phone’s Camera Phone holder Adobe Premiere Pro Props Change of Clothes Books, school supplies, and laptop Page 2 of 3 Procedure: 1. Organize the mini-set. The set will be at my room. The vibes should be dark and eerie. Lights on the room will be minimal. 2. Setting up the camera. The camera should be on a video mode. 3. Shooting the clips. This will be the hardest part because in one clip, change of clothes will be needed. Every cut must be accurate and the movements should be synchronized. 4. Transferring the clips from my phone into the laptop. 5. Editing the clips. Conclusion: The tiredness that came from the preparation down to editing will be negligible if you love what you’re doing. This made me realize that keeping the fire burning will help a person to move forward. This will serve as a stress-reducing outlet considering that the pandemic has already brought enough stress for people. The process also made me express myself about my experiences during the online set-up which help me lessen the burden. This just shows how important it is to vent even for a while. Page 3 of 3
