Project Description The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) is desirous of accepting financial quotations from suitable companies for the Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, and Configuration of Chromatograph and Ancillary Equipment at the Omotosho Power Plant Gas Receiving Station (GRS). Propetrol Limited has interest to participate in the bid for the project and eventually execute it. 1.2. Objectives To achieve the project purpose, Site Visit was under taken by Propetrol team to acquire a comprehensive knowledge, information and gain familiarity of the facilities involved. The Site Visit was focused on gathering information regarding the following items/equipment within the Omotosho power plant’s gas receiving station: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Gas Chromatograph Flow Computer Flow Meter Pressure and Temperature Transmitters Cable and Tubing Shelter - Carrier and Calibration Gas Cylinder Location - GC Stand 1.3. Site Visit Team The site visit team comprised of the following personnel: S/Nr 1 2 3 Name Akinwale Biobaku Musa Abdullai John Datong Remark Participated on site Participated on site Participated off site 2. SITE VISIT OBSERVATIONS/FINDINGS 2.1. Omotosho Power Plant 2.1.1. Gas Chromatograph As at the time of the site visit, there is no any existing gas chromatograph at the gas receiving station. An existing Calorimeter at the MCC room of the Gas Receiving Station is non-functional. A new gas chromatograph is required to analyze the gas received from the NGC. Omotosho Power Plant. The operations and maintenance team suggest two gas sampling stream into the chromatograph; sample stream 1 and 2 to be upstream and downstream of the water bath heaters respectively. That is, gas sampling and analysis before and after heating. Sample Points: The sample points for streams 1 and 2 feeding into the GC was identified on site. Sample stream 1 (before heating in the water bath heater) will be on the arriving 10” gas line downstream of the emergency shutdown valve, while sample stream 2 (for after heating) will be upstream of the pressure regulating unit. (See image below). Gas Chromatograph: The location for the GC was identified. It will be installed under a shelter together with its ancillary equipment, namely - the carrier and calibration gas cylinders. The maximum distance requirement from the sample points to the GC will determine the actual location of the GC. An adapter will be used to provide slot for the sample point. The tubing will be routed to a common header feeding the GC. Sample Point for stream 1 (before heating) Sample Point for stream 2 (after heating) 2.1.2. Flow Computer The flow computer was identified on site. However, its functionality was not ascertained because the existing flowmeter was not out of service. Flow Computer 2.1.3. Flow Meter The existing Ultrasonic Flow was non-functional. The face to face dimension of the meter is approximately 2ft 6 inches (76.2cm) Flow Meter Name Plate Ultrasonic Flow Meter 2.1.4. Pressure and Temperature Transmitters The existing Pressure and Temperature transmitter was identified on site. They need to be replaced. Pressure Transmitter (Typical) Temperature Transmitter (Typical) 2.1.5. Cable and Tubing The power and control cable, and the tubing are estimated to be 100m from the GC to the flow computer located within the gas receiving station’s MCC. 2.1.6. Shelter The space for locating the shelter for the GC and ancillaries was identified on site. The existing shelter which currently accommodates extinguisher gas cylinders will be extended by a minimum of 4ftx7ft to accommodate the GC stand, carrier and calibrating gas cylinders. Existing Shelter Identified space for Carrier and Calibration gas Cylinders
