HISTORY OF ADVENTURE TOURISM Adventure tourism gained wide popularity after the Second World War. It was during this period that tourists first began to use "for peaceful purposes" various items of military equipment: tents, rafts, jeeps. Pretty quickly, this direction received all the signs of a real industry – specialized travel companies, equipment manufacturers, as well as self-regulatory bodies (foundations, associations, clubs, etc.) appeared. Today, adventure tourism is still a fairly small market niche that is developing dynamically. Some countries (New Zealand, India), thanks to the offer of adventure tours, provide themselves with up to 40% of the incoming tourist flow. Latin America (Mexico, Brazil) and Africa (Kenya, Namibia) are actively developing this direction. According to UNWTO experts, adventure tourism belongs to the group of the most popular tourist destinations of recent years. The most famous international organization that explores the adventure tourism market in the world is the Adventure Trade Travel Association (ATTA). This organization defines adventure tourism as a trip that includes "physical activity, connection with nature, interaction with culture." Since adventure tourism has relatively recently become an independent direction of tourism, the scientific community has not yet developed a unified approach to its understanding as a subject of research. And, so adventure tourism has several basic definitions of adventure tourism. Author Definition Source Romanova I. V. Adventure tourism is any domestic or Romanova, I. V. DEVELOPING AN ADVENTURE TOUR When developing an adventure tour, it is necessary to consider that in many ways this category of tours is associated with risk. In principle, any trip is associated with risk. But it is also necessary to know the behavioral intentions of tourists, especially if tourists from other countries are 4 traveling. For example, Japanese tourists attach special importance to the emotional value and newness of the tour. Tourists from Europe consider the practicality and benefits of the tour, getting maximum impressions. When developing tours, the following factors should be considered: The purpose of the tour – is to get impressions. The content of the tour program – a sufficiently rich tour program is needed, regardless of the chosen country and its organization. Travel conditions and accommodation – preference is given to the most comfortable living conditions, considering the specifics of the trip. The duration of the program – adventure tourism, as a rule, is made up for a short time, on average, the program lasts from 2 to 4 days. Weekend tours are often found, as well as specialized holiday tours. Average age of travelers – adventure tourism is aimed at travelers aged 18 to 35 years. People who are older and traveling with children are rarely interested in this direction of tourism. Number of participants – as a rule, few groups participate in adventure tourism. 1.3.
