After examining Promoting Pro-Social Skills to Reduce
Violence Among Urban Middle School Youth the
authors concluded that there were favorable effects
connected with an after-school program meant to
address youth development via leisure, with the goal of
reducing violence-related behaviors. The investigation
took the form of running a program with the goal of
addressing pro-social behaviors, increasing youth
interest, and increasing attendance. The program
especially emphasized entertainment to help establish
connections between children and adults in the
program, with the goal of minimizing conflict and, as a
result, violence among students. According to the
article's disciplinary viewpoint, after-school programs
may be employed as a violence prevention technique if
they are planned and structured in ways that positively
affect and build youth potential.

After examining Mental Health Stigma and
Communication and Their Intersections with
Education the authors found treatments involving faceto-face interaction were the most effective in
decreasing stigma-related behavior. The nature of
the investigation was to generate a conversation about
the intersections of mental health, education,
communication, and stigma. The articles disciplinary
perspective suggests that communication is implicitly
required to attain mental health—to develop social
relationships and be an active and willing participant in
the world and its numerous publics.

After examining Outcomes of Dialectical Behavior
Therapy Administered by an Interdisciplinary Team the
authors concluded that the program's results show the
possibility for accessible and successful DBT therapy
administered by an interdisciplinary team in an
outpatient clinic. The nature of the investigation was
to examine if a 12-month intensive DBT program
administered by an interdisciplinary team of
psychotherapists, comprising psychologists, social
workers, and nurses, would be an effective treatment
option for 87 female/10 male adult outpatients with
BPD. The article's disciplinary perspective was that
DBT treatments may be administered by therapists
with a variety of educational backgrounds and be
effective in treating BPD patients.

After examining Cyberbullying and Empathy in the
Age of Hyper-connection: An Interdisciplinary
Approach the authors concluded it was reasonable to
say there were still a lot of things that could be done to
stop cyberbullying in the age of hyper-connection. The
goal of the study is to use a completely
interdisciplinary approach to examine the phenomena
of cyberbullying, combining attention to fundamental
features of social dynamics with a detailed examination
of the function of physiological reactions associated to
emotional states. The disciplinary perspective of the
article is that an interdisciplinary approach will provide
a more innovative and broader analysis in order to fully
understand the peculiarity of cyberbullying in order to
conceptualize novel treatment techniques in the
educational and social fields, thus opening new
research horizons.

After examining The Crisis of School Violence: A New
Perspective the author shows a clear link connecting
exposure to violent electronic entertainment media,
particularly violent video games, and heightened
violent and aggressive conduct. The book also finds
more explicit links between school shooting rampages
and violent video game exposure. The nature of the
analysis is a study focusing on the nature of
humanity and its relationship to violent conduct, with a
particular focus on the culture of violence that
underpins violence in school (including shooting
rampages) and sustains corporations that make
money from violence. The books disciplinary
perspectives posit that if the impetus for violence -chiefly economic and social injustice -- are not
addressed, ongoing violence whether its out of school
or in school will persist and continue to escalate.
