Routers need to be able to think on their feet, assess situations and make quick decisions to maximise efficiency in store while ensuring they put the safety of the Delivery Experts (drivers) first. top tips for improving service • • • • • • • • Ensure you have 1.5 bags in good condition for each driver and that there are plenty of charged bags (if applicable) before the rush starts Ensure there are enough cool bags and carrier bags for cold items Do not add cold items to hot bags with food Bag up the order ready in advance for the driver to take straight back out Make sure that the order is complete. This prevents two trips, customers getting half of their order and an embarrassing conversation at the customer’s door! Ensure Delivery Experts are wearing the correct uniforms Encourage Delivery Experts to hustle on their feet, not on the street Remind Delivery Experts to inform customers about Feed Us Back survey • • • • • Mark the deliveries on the map so the driver can plan their route quickly Aim for a minimum of 80% of orders leaving as single bag runs Have extra floats available to provide change quickly You must have expert knowledge of the delivery area Router Goal – Turn around Delivery Experts within one minute of entering the store, with their next delivery Double bag runs Sometimes, due to the level of business, the orders may have to go as doubles, two orders at the same time with the same driver.
