OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY - I
Dear Students,
The course will be given as an ONLINE course through ODTUClass, with 14 different topics for
the 14 weeks of the semester (Table 1).

⎯ There is no chance to DROP or WITHDRAW this course.
⎯ This course is a PREREQUISITE of the second OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY COURSE, OHS 301.
⎯ Several departments are already assigned this course as the PREREQUISITE of some of
the courses of their program. Please pay attention on the possible changes in the program
of your department.
⎯ The course is given as an ONLINE course through ODTUClass
⎯ All course materials (audio – visual materials) will be available by March 7, 2022 – 00:00
and will continue to be available throughout the semester.
⎯ You will be able to reach the course material by using your METU USERNAME and
PASSWORD.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY - I
⎯ You are asked to study the course material on the scheduled week otherwise you will not
be able to see the QUIZ of the week.
⎯ You are responsible to complete the QUIZ of the given week before Sunday 23:59. The
only exception for this rule is the Quizzes of the first three weeks. Those quizzes will be
open till the end of 3rd week (March 27, 2022: 23:59) to cover the ADD-DROP period.
⎯ There will be no chance to get a MAKE-UP for a missed QUIZ.
⎯ You should notice that, the QUIZ will only be available when you complete the course
material.
⎯ Each QUIZ will contain 5 questions and have 1 point per question.
⎯ You will be given 7.5 minutes for each quiz and you can have maximum two attempts.
⎯ In case of second attempt, the grade of second attempt will be counted.
⎯ Since questions are asked from a pool of questions randomly, there is almost no chance to
get the same questions in two attempts.
FINAL EXAM
⎯ FINAL EXAM will be available during the First week of the Final Exam Period (June 20
– 26, 2022).
⎯ The Final Exam will contain 30 questions (1 point/question) and it will take 30 minutes.
⎯ There will be no chance to get a MAKE-UP for Final Exam.
⎯ You are given only one attempt for the Final Exam. Therefore, take the exam when you
feel ready to take it.
⎯ There will be questions from all 14 topics, ideally 2 questions from each topic and the
remaining 2 from any topic.
⎯ The questions will be selected randomly from a pool of questions.
GRADING
⎯ Total weight of QUIZES in grading is 60 %. Rest of the grading (40 %) will come from
the FINAL EXAM.
⎯ You will receive a grade of SATISFACTORY (S) if your total points are ≥ 70, otherwise
your final grade will be UNSATISFACTORY (U) and you will be asked to repeat the
course in the following semester.
