NOTES:
1) Welding consumable shall be stored in dry and temperature controlled area as per manufacturers instruction.
2) Welding shall not be performed when weather conditions are not suitable for welding, bevel edges and adjacent area
are wet.
3)Tack weld shall not remain in the finished joint
4)Wind protection shield shall be provided to protect the weld pool against wind.
5) Earthing shall be provided properly to avoid stray arcing.
6) The welding edges shall be free from rust, scales, grease, earth, paint, varnish or lacquer as well as from any possible
local irregularities. Cleaning shall be done on both edges for an extension of at least 50 mm.
7)The weld joint shall not be left without completing the welding, if interrupted the welding activity minim 25% of weld
groove is filled or 1/2" weld metal is deposited.
8)Adjacent weld beads shall be staggered and not started from the same location.
9) Arc strikes are not acceptable
10) Whenever completing the welding, the end crater shall be removed by grinding before starting the subsequent run
and after final run.
11)The welding shall contain minimum 2 passes.
12) Carbon and Carbon Manganese steels which are to be welded shall comply with the following requirements:
a) Carbon content shall not exceed 0.23%, except for forgings which shall be limited to 0.25% maximum.
b) Carbon Equivalent (CE) shall not exceed 0.45 where CE = %C + %Mn/6 + (%Cr + %Mo + %V)/5 + (%Cu + %Ni)/15
c) Where a full analysis is not available, CE shall not exceed 0.42 where, CE = %C + %Mn/6
13) Welding consumable shall be used with 3.1 chemical and 2.2 mechanical properties
14) Repair shall be carried out as per INI-412-QA-F3-007
15) Without considering Impact Test
