Como presentarse en inglés
1. ESTRUCTURAS
Decir tu nombre
My name is + nombre → My name is María
Decir tu edad
I am + “número que indique tu edad” + years-old → I am 28 years-old
Decir de dónde eres:
I am from + “país” → I am from Spain
I am + “nacionalidad” → I am Spanish
Decir dónde vives:
I live in + “ciudad o país” → I live in Spain, I live in Alicante
Decir qué idiomas hablas:
I speak + “idioma” → I speak Spanish.
2. PREGUNTAS
Para poder mantener una conversación con alguien, debemos saber qué preguntas hacer para obtener
toda la información anterior. Las preguntas a estas respuestas son las siguientes:
What’s your name? (¿cómo te llamas?)
What’s your name? → My name is Jake
How old are you? (¿cuántos años tienes?)
How old are you? → I am 35 years-old
Where are you from? (¿De dónde eres?)
Where are you from? → I am from Scotland, I am Scottish
Where do you live? (¿Dónde vives?)
Where do you live? → I live in Scotland, I live in Glasgow.
How many languages do you speak? (¿cuántos idiomas hablas?)
How many languages do you speak? → I speak three languages: English, Italian and French.
3. AÑADIR INFORMACIÓN
Podemos añadir información a una oración mediante los conectores “and” y “but”.
“And” equivale a la conjunción copulativa “y /e” en español y se utiliza para dar más información sobre
algo.
I speak Italian and German (hablo italiano y alemán)
I speak Spanish and English (hablo español e inglés)
“But” equivale a la conjunción adversativa “pero” en español y se utiliza para indicar un contraste.
I am British but I live in Spain (soy británico, pero vivo en España)
4. PRESENTARSE
A continuación, ponemos algunos ejemplos:
→ Presentarse uno mismo:
Hello, my name is María. I am twenty-eight years-old. I am Spanish and I live in Alicante.
→ Ejemplo de conversación entre dos personas:
P: Hello, my name is Peter. What’s your name? (Hola, me llamo Peter. ¿Cómo te llamas?)
A: Hello Peter. My name is Anne. Where are you from? (Hola Peter. Me llamo Anne. ¿De dónde eres?)
P: I am from France. And you? (Soy francés. ¿Y tú?)
A: I am Italian but I live in Germany. Where do you live? (Soy italiana, pero vivo en Alemania. ¿Dónde
vives tú?)
P: I live in France.
(Vivo en Francia.)
A: I speak three languages: Italian, German and English. (Hablo tres idiomas: italiano, alemán y español.)
P: I speak French and English.
(Yo hablo francés e inglés.)
A: That´s great, nice to meet you. (es genial, gusto en conocerte)
P: nice to meet you too. (gusto en conocerte tambien.)
