Journal Expectations

Journal entries will be numbered, starting over with number one when a new book
begins.
For the first entry of a book only, include the title of the book and the name of the author.
The page numbers of the book that you are journaling about must be included.
For the fourth six weeks, you must have two entries per week. The fifth and sixth six
weeks there will be three entries required for each week. Journals will be turned in at the
second week and fifth week of each grading period.
Entries must include a summary of what was read, and your personal connections to the
text. Refrain from simple emotional responses, read critically.
Each entry must have a quote from the pages you read that stood out to you, and an
explanation why you chose this quote.
These journals will be considered a major grade, pay attention to your writing. You may
type these and GLUE the pages in your journals, please do not staple.
