Airport terms
You get out (sair) your house and head (encaminhe) to the airport: head to my office
Arrive (arrived: chegar) at the airport
After you arrive/Once you arrive you pay for the taxi/cab
Look for (procurar) your check-in desk/check-in totem/check-in site (local)
- Excuse me sir, where is the check-in site?
Head (dar, entregar) your ticket to the to the attendant
- Mister, would you please head me your ticket?
- Okay, here you go.
You wait (esperar) in the line / Queue to despatch your luggage/baggage
Hope (espera – esperança) it’s not overweight
You head to the gate.
Prepare to the security checks
- Take off your bag of liquids and put it on the tray
- Take off your watch, your phone, things made (make) of metal, ocasionally you take
off your shoes too.
- After all of your things are on the tray, the tray is going through the conveyor belt
- You go through the scanner.
- You answer any question the security guard may ask
