Emphasizes care of maternal-newborn patients at risk for or with actual nutritional-metabolic, activity-exercise, role-relationship, and cognitiveperceptual dysfunctional health patterns and adult patients with sexuality-reproductive dysfunctional health patterns. Related pharmacology and cultural practices and beliefs are integrated. Course Student Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Utilized Gordon’s functional health patterns as a basis for assessment with emphasis on maternal-newborn patients at risk for or with actual nutritional-metabolic, activity-exercise, role-relationship, and cognitive-perceptual dysfunctional health patterns and adult patients with sexuality-reproductive dysfunctional health pattern. 2 2. Examinations are given at intervals to assess student progress. Case studies and student-led activities are important active learning modalities and are supported by educational research. Each exam will include one (1) to five (5) math calculation problems.
