WHAT YOU’LL NEED Embroidery floss, thread or yarn Pins or tape INSTRUCTIONS • To make a typical bracelet you’ll want at least 6 strands (the one shown above used 12) that are at least 30 inches long, based on using embroidery floss. The wider your bracelet the longer each strand should be, and different kinds of thread/yarn will affect your yardage needs. • Friendship bracelets are really made up of lots of half hitch knots. To properly form the chevron you need to divide the strands in half and make sure the color pattern is symmetrical. Another color arrangement will result in a different pattern. • Pin or tape your strings down to something sturdy. • Start at the left, knotting once over each strand until you reach the center. That strand now joins the right side group. • Now start at the right, knotting once over each strand until you reach the center (including the strand from the left side group,) and that strand now joins the left group. • Repeat until the bracelet is long enough, then braid out the ends. © 2021 Universal Studios.
