is predictive policing
worth
it?
"BROKEN

Areas with high amounts of minor
crime are over policed due to
perceived dangerousness
PREVENTS

Location based predictive policing
has led to a twenty percent decrease
in burglaries and break and enters in
Vancouver.
BIASED
DATA
AI decision making ignores
Canada's justice systems dark
history of discrimination against
Black, Indigenous and other
racialized groups.
ACT QUICKER
Algorithms cross-reference 911
calls with CCTV footage, criminal
records, and other reports of
crime to allow officers to get to
the scene quickly.
LOSS OF
PRIVACY
Social media information and
public surveillance facial data
was scraped by private
companies Clearview AI to train
algorithms for law enforcement
to employ
AT-RISK YOUTH

at risk youth. AI used to better
understanding of risk factors and
patterns associated with the
likelihood of being reported missing
to police.
WHO TO
BLAME?
When algorithms make
decisions that endanger lives
from biased data, no one is at

enforcment for their misuse.
PUBLICLY
