ENGLISH READING TASK 3.
Imagine that your friend, who does not read English, has been given information
found in an advertisement about a hotel in Florida (see illustration). Help your
friend decide if the hotel is a good choice by looking for the amenities your friend
is interested in. Indicate which paragraph in the ad gives the appropriate
information.
#1. Our facilities are located in Miami, Florida. Here you will be able to enjoy clean,
warm Atlantic waters. Our location is preferred by those who enjoy water sports.
#2. There are 19 comfortable double rooms, all fully air-conditioned, with color
television, private bathroom, and balconies overlooking the ocean and the swimming
pool.
#3. Our restaurant is well known in the area for its seafood cuisine, as well as for its
famous ribs and steaks.
#4. The hotel has a large convention center that seats up to 200 people. In most rooms
there is wireless Internet available for a low, convenient fee.
#5. Free parking lot. We accept most major credit cards: Visa, Diner’s Club, and
American Express.

Indicate which paragraph in the ad gives the appropriate information.
Paragraph #
I can’t decide whether I’d rather spend my vacation by
the ocean or in the mountains. Where is this place
located?
Paragraph #
I’d like to be able to go swimming, and it would be nice
if there was a place to get some other exercise too!
Paragraph #
I don’t want to have to go out every night to find a
restaurant; I’d prefer to eat sometimes right in the hotel.
Paragraph #
I hope the place is air-conditioned. I can’t stand sleeping
in a hot room!
Paragraph #
I wonder if they have a TV there. I’d really like to be
able to watch some television in the evenings.
Paragraph #
I hope I can use my credit card. I have a MasterCard
credit card.
Paragraph #
I wonder if they have free wireless Internet connection. I
need to stay connected.
Paragraph #
I’d like a room with a private bath and a great view.
