What is the significance of assessment and evaluation of learning in Mathematics? ✓ Assessment improves the student learning, provide students, parents and teachers with reliable information regarding students’ progress and extent attainment of the expected learning outcome. Evaluation determines students’ strength, weaknesses and progress. So, assessment and evaluation play important role for the teachers, parents and students. 2. Why do we need to assess students’ outcomes? ✓ In order for us to be informed the students growth when it comes to learning, to assist them on what needs and progress to be improved and for us to know what strategies and techniques should we apply for the students to learn in effective and best way. 3. With the three purposes of assessment, give concrete example/situation on how it is being implemented in a math class? Assessment as Learning We have individual or group reporting. Assessment of Learning We are assessing by having prelim, midterm and final examination in which they can evaluate our understanding.
