BScN Graduation & Entry to Practice Checklist
This guide has been designed to show you the process to be followed as you complete your final terms in the
BScN Program and your information is shared with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

* After Notification #2 is sent to CNO, you will receive a confirmation email to your @mcmaster.ca account from Academic Advising.
Access Avenue2Learn CNO Consent Course
You will be automatically added to this course and see it on Avenue2Learn at the above times. Once added
you will receive an email from Academic Advising with more details on how to complete a 1-question
“quiz” either confirming or denying permission for your personal information to be shared with the CNO.

information and processes required to graduate and attend convocation.
*Regardless of site-of-study, all Graduation/Convocation processes are administered through McMaster.
Visit the CNO Website: http://www.cno.org/en/become-a-nurse/new-applicants1/ontario/ to understand
CNO information and process required to become an RN.
The CNO will contact you using your @mcmaster.ca email address after they receive Notification #1 from
the BScN Program Office with instructions regarding setting up or updating your CNO Online Portal.
* Please note creating a profile before receiving a prompt from the CNO will slow down processing times.
Basic (A) Stream & Accelerated (F) Stream – create a new account
Post-RPN (E) Stream – create new account; or update account if currently practicing as RPN
