I was considered the jewel of
the solar system, and
then they found all the outer
planets rained diamonds.
However, my rings are the
largest. I ALMOST had the
shortest day at 10.7 hours,
and my year takes 29 earth
years. However, I did win the
MOST moon awards
with 82! I am the least dense
planet.
I am the largest planet, and am
famous for the storm that has
raged for over 300 years
forming my Great Red Spot. I
have a small ring system and
was once said to have the
most moons (79). I have the
shortest day (10 hours), and
my year is 12 Earth years. I
am the GREATEST GAS
GIANT.
They call me the “Red Planet”
(due to iron oxide, or rust, in
soil); ice at its north pole;
craters; largest volcano
(Olympus Mons) and valley. I
have two moons, but no rings.
I may have had flowing water
at one time. My day is a little
of over 24 hours, and my year
is 687 Earth Days.
Mars
Jupiter
I am one more of the icy rocky
bodies found in the Kuiper
Belt, and I’m one of the reason
they reconsidered the planet
criteria. My day is similar to
Earth and Mars at 22 hours, but
my year is WAY LONGER at
305 Earth years. I Have 1
moon that they SAY is
provisional and I have no
rings.
Saturn
I am rocky and NASA says I
may have a magnetosphere. I
have TWO moons AND
rings. I still can’t believe they
won’t classify me as a planet!
My day is only 4 hours which
is even shorter than Jupiter’s
and my year is 285 Earth
years. If you ask me I’M the
greatest Planet!
I am THE hottest planet due
to my VERY dense
atmosphere that traps heat. I
am rocky and have craters
and volcanos. I rotate
backwards, and have the
longest day (243 Earth days),
which is even longer than my
year (225 Earth days). I have
no moons or rings.

Sun
I have a rocky surface with
many craters, like the moon. I
have the Shortest year (88
days), and my day is almost
59 Earth days. I have the
most extreme temperatures
changes because I have no
atmosphere, The sun prevents
me from having any moons
or rings.
I am the 5th largest planet
with a thin atmosphere that
protects the planet from
meteoroids. My layers are:
core, mantle, and crust; ice at
poles. Water covers 70% of
my surface, which can be in
the form of solid, liquid and
gas. I only have one Moon
and NO rings. I support life.
I have five moons, and I’m
composed of methane and
water ice and rocky
mountainous terrain. My year
is
248 Earth years and my day
is 153 hours or 6 Earth
days. I am located in the
Kuiper belt, and am
classified as a dwarf planet.
Pluto
Ceres
Kuiper
Belt
I am outer planet and have 6
rings which consist of dust
and debris. They say I am a
gas giant, but I’m more of an
ICE Giant whose orbit
crosses the orbit of the dwarf
planet, Pluto. I am the planet
with the longest year (165
Earth years), and a 16 hour
day; I also have 14 moons!
My day is about 17 hours, my
year is 84 Earth years. I
am a gas giant with a rocky
core with water, methane,
and ammonia fluids above.
My atmosphere contains
hydrogen and helium. I
rotates sideways; and
have 13 vertical rings & 27
moons.
I was considered the largest
asteroid for a time and was
also classified as a planet,
before being reclassified as a
dwarf planet. I am the only
dwarf planet not in the
Kuiper Belt. My year is 4.6
Earth years, and my day is
about 9 hours. I contain a
rocky core, and icy water!
