I have them gather phrases with this handout, then do a rough draft on a blank sheet of paper and their final is a poster at least the size of standard printer paper or an object. I've shown them what others have done. They get really creative! They'll make collages, add 3D barbed wire, do watercolors, etc. It ends up being one of their favorite projects. They are only allowed to add "the" "and" "of" (little words). And I think I said a minimum of 10 or 12 lines.
