Pier Giorgio Michelangelo Frassati was born in Turin, Italy on April 6, 1901. He had a deep spiritual life.when he was 17, he joined the St. Vincent de Paul Society.He spend most of his time caring for sick,needy orphans, and servicemen returing from wrold war 1.In 1919, he joined the Catholic Student Foundation and Catholic Action organization. His favorite sport was mountian climbing.He also loved art and music. He was agnist Fascism, and would physically defended the faith. Pier Giorgio died at the age of 24 on July 4, 1925 to poliomyelitis.When he died the poor and the needy that he helped for over seven years were there for his funeral.On May 20, 1990, when Pope beatified Pier Giorgio Frassatiin in St. Peter’s Square,there thousnds of people there to watch.
