1 Adoption Name Institution Course Professor Date 2 Adoption Adoption is the emotional, societal and lawful practice where children who are not being brought up by their biological parentages, become permanent and total legitimate members of a different household while at the same time maintaining psychological and genetic relations. Adoption is often a challenging and bureaucratic process, but many innocent children need homes and parental care (Pope Francis). In the United States, close to 135,00 children are adopted each year. Of the 135 000 adoption cases, 59% are from the foster system, close to 26% are from different nations, and 15% are willingly renounced American babies. According to Brenda Destro, there is misinformation from family planners and legislators who argue that adoption is not practical; thus, the purpose of this essay is to advocate for adoption over abortion. One of the biggest challenges of pro-life advocates is changing the perception of many women and teenage girls who view adoption as a wrong choice (Destro, 2022). One of the pro-life advocates in the world is the catholic church which teaches about marriage and family values. During a Vatican meeting in 2019, Pope Francis spoke about adoption, saying that children are the most vulnerable and fragile members of society who predominantly suffer from rejection and face desperate journeys to escape from war and hunger. Additionally, Pope Francis stated that the church should create a culture of beauty and care, not exclusion. Moreover, he quoted the Bible, where Jesus said, "whoever welcomes one child like their own in my name, welcomes me." Therefore, women, especially young women, should always choose adoption frequently because it is the best answer. 3 Reference destro, b., n.d.
