1.What is running a company about according to Richard Branson?

2. Why did he start an airline? He was on a flight and didn’t like how it was so he made it how
he want.
3. Why did he become godfather of an unknown child? A woman got pregnant using his
companys condoms so she asked him to be the godfather
4. How many employees do his companies have? 55 000
5. Why can he be called Sir Richard? He got knighted by the queen
6. What is the design like of the space center in New Mexico? A giant eye
7. How many times has he been dragged out of the water by a helicopter and why? 6 times he
went on different hot air balloon flights and some of them failed
8. ´Why did he write letters to his family? He thought he was going to die
9. When did he leave school and why? When he was 15 years old. He left because he was
dyslectic and not very school smart overall. He also failed IQ test and so on.
10. How did he learn the meaning of net and gross? He got it explained after a meeting when he
was 50 years old. The difference was that he got a picture of it so it was easier.
11. What positive treats does he give of himself as a schoolboy? He was good at sports
12. What did his mother do to toughen him up and what does he think of that today? He was
dropped at the side of the road to walk to his granny and the same when he was 4 years old.
13.Why was he arrested in his youth?

14. How should you treat your employees as a good businessman according to Branson? U
should treat them fairly and well. When u treat people good, they come back and comeback for
more
15. What is capitalist philanthropy? When the big part of the wealth end up with a few people
they need to use that to tackle issues in the world.

16. What examples of how he is helping with global issues does Branson give? He’s
trying to come up with alternative fuel.
17. What is the difference between businesspeople in their 30’s and 40’s compared to those in
their 50’s and 60’s according to Chris Anderson. 30s and so still have the desire to grow and get
bigger and better.
