Once you have the program overview sheet, complete the Academic Map below. This is a tentative outline that you can use as a reference while
registering for future semesters at Quincy College.
Important Reminders:
 In order to complete an Associate’s Degree you must complete all the Core Courses, Program Requirements, and Program Electives.

A course cannot be used to meet more than one requirement within a single degree.

Many courses require a prerequisite, even if the prerequisite is not part of the degree or certificate, it must be completed prior to taking
a required course.

Some courses will only run in the Fall or the Spring semesters, or may be canceled due to low enrolment. Always have a couple of
classes picked as back-up selections.

Full-time status is 12 or more credits per semester. To complete a degree program in 2 years it is necessary to take 15 credits a
semester, or to complete courses in the Winter Intercession or Summer Semesters.

A Change/Declaration of Major Form must be filled out in the Registrar’s Office in order to switch degree programs.

Students are required to follow the requirements for the academic year in which they declared their major. Changes to different
program years require the Dean’s approval.

Degree plans should always been flexible as the course offerings change from one semester to the next. It is helpful to meet with an
Academic Advisor to discuss the order in which you plan to take your courses.

It is recommended that you meet with an Academic Advisor as soon as you have any concerns about your academic progress.
