Agbuya, Adrienne Michaella S. 03-07-22 STEM 11-St. Jerome BIBLICAL JOURNAL 4.1 “So we aren’t depressed. But even if our bodies are breaking down on the outside, the person that we are on the inside is being renewed every day. Our temporary minor problems are producing an eternal stockpile of glory for us that is beyond all comparison. We don’t focus on the things that can be seen but on the things that can’t be seen. The things that can be seen don’t last, but the things that can’t be seen are eternal.” — 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 We always worry about money, reputation at work or in school, material possessions and other things that can be seen. It's because we believe that if we have enough money, we can be happy and buy whatever we want. We felt appreciated when we were recognized for what we accomplished, for our efforts. And when we have all the things that we need, we felt contented. Just like me, when I have money, I feel like I don't have to worry about buying the things I want and I need. I feel extremely happy when I received an honor. All of my efforts seem to have been rewarded. And after I have all these things I need, there is the feeling that I no longer need to worry about what I’ll do with it. However, we didn’t think of who guided us to achieve those blessings. We didn’t even realize that those are only temporary. Like the passage above, “the things that can be seen don’t last, but the things that can’t be seen are eternal”. Just like God’s love, it is eternal. We cannot see it but we can feel it. God’s love would never end as He is always watching and guiding us. He is always there for us. We may not see Him, but He would never leave us, He is always beside us. Even without those temporary things, we can still be happy because God wants His children to be happy. Prayer Lord God, I praise your most wonderful name. Forgive me for all the mistakes that I have committed. Lord, I admit that I am one of those who want material things and good reputation because that’s the way I think I can prove myself. Forgive me if I have done wrong and please enlighten me to where the right path I should take. May You continue on guiding and giving us Your eternal love. In Jesus name, Amen.
