Web browser is a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the world wide web, including webpages, images, video and other files. As a client/server model, the browser is the client run on a computer or mobile device that contacts the web server and requests information. 2. The common web browsers are– I. Google Chrome Google Chrome has become the most used web browsers in the world. Google Chrome was released in the year 2008 as a freeware that was written in C++. The browser is known for its performance, ease of use, syncing with Google database, security, great support for WebKit, HTML5, CSS3, and other latest web standards. II. Firefox Firefox is the second most popular web browser in the world. Firefox is a freeware from Mozilla organization that was released in the year 2002 by the name “Phoenix”. Even during its first release, Firefox proved to be a fast and secure browser by its testers and users. Mozilla Firefox is supported on OS such as Windows, Android, and iOS, Linux, Firefox OS and OS X. III. Internet Explorer As Windows Operating System is the most popular desktop Operating System in the world, Internet Explorer or simply IE is the default browser in Windows making this browser the fourth most popular and used browser in the world. This browser is not free as it requires a Windows license to use. The Internet Explorer today has added new features to support the latest web technologies. [3] IV. Safari Safari web browser is a freeware browser from the Apple Inc. Safari is the default web browser in Mac computers and in OS X and iOS Operating Systems. Safari was released in the year 2003. A Version of the browser is available for windows Operating System as well. Today, Safari is popular because of Apple products. 3. Your browser history is a record of the sites you’ve visited in the past. The record stores the names of the sites you visited and when you visited them. This includes download history, search history, cookies and more. Deleting Browsing History In Internet Explorer9, click the gear icon to open the tools menu. Click safety and then select Delete browsing history.. Part Two Search Engine 1) Search Engine is a service that allows internet users to search for content via the World Wide Web (WWW) 2) Most popular common search engine 1) Google Google is the best search engine in the world and it is also one of the most popular products from Google. Almost 70 percent of the search engine market has been acquired by Google. 2) Yahoo Yahoo is one of the most popular email providers and its web search engine holds third place in search with an average of 2% Market share. 3) You could improve your search results by searching for shoe polish. Electronic mail, e–mail or email is information stored on a computer that is exchanged between two users over telecommunications. Mail is a physical mean of sending letters, including photos, content letters or parcels of various items. While Email is electronic mail sent through the internet. It is sent to official or on personal email address, that can be accessed by the particular individual anywhere and everywhere. 2. An email address identifies an email box to which email messages are delivered. 3. An email provider allows users to send email campaigns to a list of subscribers. Email providers are technology companies that make it easier for people to build email lists and send emails. i. Gmail Gmail is the most popular and widespread email provider all over the world. It has a lot of features for users and at the same time, it’s very simply in usage. ii.
