Tips to remember: Singles Badminton
There are three things to remember:
Position when serving:
1. Start the game serving from the right side of the court. The Receiver is placed diagonal across
the net.
2. When serving do not touch any lines.
3. If the score is even, serve from the right side of
the court.
4. If the score is odd move to the left side to serve.
5. When serving the shuttle must land in the opposite
court, the outside lines are out in singles.
6. The end lines are fair play.

Delivery of Serve:
1. The shaft and head of the badminton racket must point downwards during a serve
2. The serve must be a continuous motion, once you start the movement you must finish
it, no faking allowed.
3. The contact of the shuttle must be below the waist.
4. Both feet should be stationary on the ground during the serve.
5. The entire racket head should be pointing down below the racket hand.
6. Hit the base of the shuttle, not the net or skirt of the shuttle.
Scoring:
1. The first side to reach 21 points, with a two-point difference, wins the game.
2. A match consists of three games.
3. The sides are required to change sides after each game, and any player from the
winning side can serve in the next game, and similarly, any player from the losing side
can receive in the next game.
