With Dental Management Information System w/Online Appointment System and Billing System through SMS, the process gets much better, easier and more efficient in ost people in this world than traditional way. Thousands of business sectors and organizations like Department of health have already discovered by using technological progression in this world. Dental Management Information System w/Online Appointment System and Billing System through SMS allows the system to manipulate or to manage database online, quick pull data, and create strong and whole reports right from the dental records with appointment system with most practical and easy way to find patient’s information, instead of having a manageable separate data files, folders and spreadsheet. They simply manipulate or navigate it to the system like just the same with other Website. The records of the patient will be secure and safely online. Most of the business sectors nowadays, are using network services and also offering Web online services in order to provide better services with fast and better way for both their staff and themselves, including the way of how those people make booking in their doctors or dentist. This system is all about to implement a lanbase and web base system which the transactions can be done in lan base application. The dental profession of all the doctors and dentist has an obligation and responsibility for patient care. A properly maintained patient record by the Dentist Secretary is a very important aspect of this patient care. In general, a “record or data” can be defined as information generated as the official records or transactions and one that is documented to acts as a source of reference and a tool by which an organization is governed. The dental record is the official office document that records all diagnostic information, treatment performed and patient-related communications that occur in the dental office, including on how they request an apointment to their dentist even in their doctor.. Page | 2 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY General objectives The general objective of the study is to create, develop and design entitled Dental Management Information System w/Online Appointment System and Billing System through SMS for Dra.Lumibao Dental Clinic. Specific Objectives To maintain patient record. To lessen the time to consumed in searching and retrieving of files. To view appointment schedule and patient information. Page | 5 CHAPTER 2: RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES Text-to-Speech Dental Record System Famed physicist Stephen Hawking is one of many individuals who communicate with help from speech synthesis. Speech synthesis can be produced through phonetic transcriptions or, more commonly, by converting normal language text into speech, referred to as text-to-speech (TTS). A recently published standard from ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) specifies an experimental method for evaluating the intelligibility of synthetic speech in English generated by TTS systems. ANSI/ASA S3.502013, Evaluation of the Intelligibility of Text to Speech Synthesis Systems, is intended for use by developers of applications incorporating TTS technology such as e-mail and SMS readers, talking kiosks, e-learning systems, navigation systems, automated messaging services, screen readers for people who are blind, and assistive devices for people who have difficulty speaking. This new American National Standard (ANS) provides a measure of human listeners’ recovery of words that correspond to the intended phonemic content of speech created by the system and specifies methods for designing, controlling, and reporting the test conditions, among other specifications. ASA is a membership society dedicated to increasing and diffusing the knowledge of acoustics and its practical applications, as well as fostering studies of noise, its measurement, its effects, and ways of reducing noise to improve the human environment. ASA serves acoustics professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad in a variety of fields related to sound including physics, engineering, robotics, oceanography, architecture, music, noise control, and many others. Electronic health records (EHR) rely upon the transfer of information between hospitals and medical offices, as well as between oral surgeons, orthodontists, and dental practices. Harmonized healthcare informatics standards offer consistency and quality of data, while enhancing the coordination of patient care and eliminating gaps in function and content of electronic systems.( ANSI/ASA , 2013) Page | 6 Dental Clinic Management Dental Clinic Management System is an open source computerized clinic management system designed for dental clinics. Released in Sept 2014, DCMS 2.0 is an upgrade of DCMS 1.0. DCMS 2.0 is more versatile, flexible and user-friendly and complies with the Electronic Health Record (eHR) standards to support the data exchange with the territory-wide eHR Sharing System (eHRSS). With funding support from Food and Health Bureau, Hong Kong Dental Association (HKDA) and Mobigator Technology Group will provide free training programme and 12 months technical support to dental clinics in Hong Kong to facilitate their adoption of DCMS 2.0 and participation in the eHRSS. (http://dcms.mobigator.com, 2014) Electronic Patient Billing QuickBill gives you all the control of manually produced patient billing statements without the tedious assembly or expensive inventory. With just a couple clicks in Easy Dental, you can send billing statements to the patients of your choice. QuickBill allows you to send patient billing statements directly from Easy Dental. All the printing, folding, stuffing, sealing, stamping and mailing is done for you so you can focus on other responsibilities.( Quickbill, Henry Schein, 2014) Patients Medical and Dental Record System Due to manual process, some significant errors cannot be avoided. Patients Medical and Dental Record System is a kind of system that will greatly improve the productivity of medical personnel. It provides guidance and support decision to prevent errors and effectiveness of services. This system can also provide easy data retrieval, record keeping, a quarterly and annual graphical report of health record report that is needed for decision making and a real time records for the management. The implementation of Patients Medical and Dental Record System could help the dental and medical clinic of the school for this could assist the organization to make new involvement and health programs that give exact and valuable services that are system supported decisions. But specifics of the dental profession have led to the specifics of the application of information technology (IT), and continue to require special development of dental oriented and applied IT. Harmonization of dental software with global standards will enable doctors and dentists to with a few mouse clicks via the internet reach the general medical information about their patients from the central national health database. Standardization will also allow access to general medical and dental history data on citizens of foreign countries who seek help of doctors or dentists during their vacation. Such a method of using IT will provide a higher level of health services and better health care. Also, the identification procedures in mass disasters availability of data can contribute to accelerate the identification of victims.Dental information systems lately are based on Web applications to facilitate data exchange. Electronic patient record contains basic information and entering of this data is automatically created the protocol of patients that can be printed.Besides these general data Electronic patient record also contains history data related to allergies and other diseases which existence can significantly affect the treatment, data on current diagnosis, location of a pathological process in the tooth refers to the following location (mesial, distal, vestibular, oral, occlusal), teething, therapy of the tooth , type of material used with location on the tooth. The system may defined also the surgical procedures that were performed on the teeth such as tooth extraction or tooth root resection with the ability to accurately indicate that the root is resected. Implants, upgrades, grinding teeth, and independent crown can be defined for each tooth and its rightful place if a tooth is missing. Specially designed graphical representation of teeth enables to enter data by first clicking on the tooth or place where it is and also on that occasion to open a menu with options. Control of data entry prevents entry of illogical data ( Fedja Masic, 2012) BIBLIOGRAPHY http://dcms.mobigator.com, http://www.inettutor.com/source-code/patients-medical-and-dental-record-system Quickbill, Henry Schein Page | 8 CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK (Input-Process-Output) INPUT 1. This method of test can be applied to virtually every level of software testing: unit, integration, system and acceptance. It typically comprises most if not all higher level testing, but can also dominate unit testing as well. White-box testing is a method of testing software that tests internal structures or workings of an application, as opposed to its functionality (i.e. black-box testing). In white-box testing an internal perspective of the system, as well as programming skills, are used to design test cases. The tester chooses inputs to exercise paths through the code and determine the appropriate outputs. This is analogous to testing nodes in a circuit, e.g. in-circuit testing (ICT). White-box testing can be applied at the unit, integration and system levels of the software testing process. Although traditional testers tended to think of white-box testing as being done at the unit level, it is used for integration and system testing more frequently today. It can test paths within a unit, paths between units during integration, and between subsystems during a system–level test. Though this method of test design can uncover many errors or problems, it has the potential to miss unimplemented parts of the specification or missing requirements.
