 Edward Said was a professor in the departmant of
English and Comparative Literature in Columbia
University.
 He was a public intellectual who was born as a
Palestinian Arab and later became American
citizen.
 Said is best known for the book “Orientalism”
(1978).
 He was also a member of Palestine National
Council.

