Order the conversation between a receptionist and a guest at the front desk:
RECEPTIONIST.–It’s €120 per night, including taxes.
GUEST.–Of course, here you are. I booked a single room but my wife is coming
tomorrow. Could I have a superior double room instead?
GUEST.–Three nights. How much is a superior double room?
RECEPTIONIST.–Yes, breakfast is included. You can choose between Continental breakfast
or English breakfast.
GUEST.–Good morning. I have a reservation in the name of Peter Taylor.
RECEPTIONIST.–Certainly, sir. There are some superior double rooms available. How long
will you be staying?
GUEST.–Does it include breakfast?
RECEPTIONIST.–Yes, we have a gym on the 1st floor. It’s open from 08:00 to 20:00.
GUEST.–Great. Can I pay by credit card?
RECEPTIONIST.–Yes, Mr. Taylor. We take Visa, American Express and MasterCard. Is there
anything else you would like to know?
RECEPTIONIST.–Good morning, sir. Welcome to The Sand Palace Hotel. May I help you?
GUEST.–Is there a gym at the hotel?
RECEPTIONIST.–Certainly, Mr. Taylor. Would you like something else?
GUEST.–Thank you. Goodbye.
RECEPTIONIST.–Just a moment, Mr. Taylor. Let me look it up. Yes, here it is. May I have
your passport or some identification, please?
GUEST.–Great, thank you. Can I have a wake-up call at 07:30 tomorrow?
RECEPTIONIST.–Here is your key card. You are in room number 622 on the 6th floor. The
lift is at the end of the corridor. I’ll ask the bellboy to take your baggage up to your
room. We hope you enjoy your stay here.
GUEST.–No, thank you.
