Each component in the system shall be designed to suit the system needs as required. The system shall be EN54-16 compliant. The system shall have the following features: • Easy configuration, but without losing the ability to solve complex requests. A configuration wizard and an expert program interface shall be provided. Fast and correct installation shall be possible, but it shall also be possible to handle complex and specific application requirements. A free programmable Task Engine shall be available via the expert program interface. The configuration wizard shall be able to provide a step-by-step configuration guide that creates a complete IRIS-Net system configuration file. To set up a network configuration, a minimum number of handling and knowledge needs to be required. A zero network system configuration setup shall be available. • Due to its flexibility, the system shall eliminate the project risk right from the start. The matrix structure shall be evident throughout the system. Dynamic channel routing and intelligent audio power distribution shall make the system suitable for almost any application into the low and mid-size segment. The system shall be designed to ensure a system-wide intelligent power management architecture. The system shall raise the bar and create a PA/EVAC system that uses the lowest power consumption for the application. The system shall be able to go in sleep mode in case of a power failure without losing supervision. It shall save on batteries and maintenance costs! • The system shall add pro-sound audio quality level to the PA/EVAC system This high-quality level shall enable combined use of Fire/EVAC with applications that requires high-quality audio, such as presentation rooms, school stages, etc. The excellent sound quality shall ensure excellent intelligibility in all kind of situations. The system wide signal to noise ratio shall be at least 100dB. • The call station shall be designed as a modern device and shall have a LC display. The call station shall provide a green LED on the Microphone to show that a call is broadcasted from the call station. The system shall be able to handle up to 16 call stations on a local system and up to 64 call station in a networked system. It shall be possible to show faults on the LC display of the call station. Furthermore it shall be possible to lock the call station with either a numerical key lock or a key switch lock. The call station shall provide and option to monitor a single zone or a group in the system. • The system shall be capable to address up to 942 zones with a total speaker load up to 164.000 Watt shared over up to 200 amplifiers in a networked solution. It shall be able to handle 4 system program sources and 12 local program inputs on each system in the network and it shall be possible to share the sources with other systems in the network. The networked system shall increase the number of channels in the network system to up to 16 channels. • It shall be possible to spare with one or more amplifiers per controller. The number of spare amplifiers shall be independent to the number of amplifiers connected to the controller to take over from a duty amplifier in case one fails. • The system shall be able to record for at least 30 minutes of broadcasted evacuation messages and/or speech. It shall have an option to select recorded the full evacuation including the messages or only the spoken messages broadcasted via the emergency microphones. It shall be possible to download the recordings via a web interface as .wav files for analyses. • The system must provide a redundant audio transport channel to ensure a secondary audio path can be established in case of a network failure. The system shall provide an emergency audio shall to which other controllers in the network shall react in case of a data communication failure. • It shall be possible to order as single system components to enable local rack built solutions or as pre-built and wired rack built solution from the factory with a basic configuration. • The system shall provide an EN54-16 certified IP based communication interface to enable IP communication with fire detection system such as a FPA5000. The TCP/IP capable network device shall contain all controlling and monitoring functions of a voice evacuation system. An additional network card enables Dante network audio transport between the different system controllers. • The controller shall manage the supervision of its own operation and that of the connected devices. It shall control and activate the connected amplifiers and spare amplifier(s) and shall replace the amplifier routing and channel that has reported a fault. • The controller shall support single line switching or redundant group A/B switching. • Network and device connectivity status and fault conditions shall be displayed via LEDs on the front panel. The controller shall operate as a four channel output matrix. • It shall allow up to 4 controllable program inputs. • A single system controller shall be able to manage up to 20 routers, 16 call stations and up to 492 loudspeaker circuits. • A controller shall provide an option to connect to a networked solution with up to 4 controllers in a network. It can be operated from both the mains and a DC supply. The output voltage is galvanically insulated and is constantly monitored for ground fault. An energysaving mode and temperature-controlled fans reduce energy consumption and noise levels. The control and monitoring functions are performed via CAN bus. This amplifier is designed for operation in an emergency evacuation system. The amplifiers are usually controlled via a controller and configured using IRISNet. Rack mountable, the unit charges lead‑acid batteries and simultaneously provides 24 V or 48 V for system components that use 24 V or 48 V exclusively. These chargers are fully compliant and certified to EN 54‑4. The battery chargers are premium quality, intelligent, microprocessor controlled devices. The charger comes with a temperature sensor that is used to adjust the charging voltages. The charger has additional 24 V or 48 V (depending on model) auxiliary outputs, to supply power to equipment that needs 24 V or 48 V as primary power. The current capacity of these outputs is 5 A per output. The charger has relay outputs to signal a mains fault, battery fault and charger output voltage fault. Functions Controls and indicators Performance The maximum charger current is 12 A for charging the battery. The maximum battery capacity, according to EN 54‑4, is therefore 225 Ah, minimum size is 86 Ah. The maximum output of the back‑up power system is 150 A. The charger has an input voltage range of 195 V to 264 V, and a power factor corrector. The charger features automatic shutoff when the battery voltage is too low, to prevent battery damage. They are easy to use, taking the complexity away from the user and putting it where it belongs, inside the equipment. Providing a crisp call or clear music is as easy as turning on the radio. The amplifier is also surprisingly affordable, without sacrificing features such as ducking, priority and flexibility. Functions Microphone and line inputs All Mic/line inputs can be switched between microphone level and line level sensitivity. The inputs are balanced but can be used unbalanced. Phantom power can be switched on to provide power to condenser microphones. Input channels 1 and 2 can take priority over all other microphone and music inputs: • Input 1 can be activated by contact closure on the PTT (push to talk). A 2-tone chime can be configured to precede an announcement. • Input 2 can be switched automatically if a signal is fed to the input i.e. if someone speaks into the microphone (VOX activation). u 4 microphone/line inputs, plus 3 music source inputs u 100 V and telephone input with priority & VOX u Announcement only output, 3-wire volume override u Voice-activated emergency override u Wide range of power (30, 60 and 120 Watts) When one or both inputs are configured to have priority, the amount of attenuation (reduction) of the cinch inputs, can be set between ‑2 dB (little attenuation) or -∞ dB (mute). This provides a talk-over or voice-over function. Input channels 1 and 2 also feature selectable speech filters to enhance the clarity of announcements. Music inputs Separate music inputs are available with their own input selector and volume control. The user can choose a music source like a CD player or radio (like the PLN-DVDT), and set the level of music. Personalized settings More unique features are available such as detachable labels where the user can write the names for inputs, music sources and zones. These labels can then be mounted on the front, protected by the clear window. Another useful feature is to indicate preferred settings on the front panel by inserting colored pins at the preset levels of all knobs. You can then instruct a user to set all the controls to the silver pins to configure the system for their particular use. A second user can set all controls to the red pins for their configuration. 2 | PLE‑1MAxx0‑EU Plena Mixer Amplifier Integration A telephone / 100 V emergency input with VOX activation is provided for easy integration with another PA system or a telephone paging system. It has its own preset volume control and overrides all other inputs, including call station and inputs 1 and 2. The unit also has a line output to add amplifiers for larger systems with more output power. This output can be switched to music only, for example, so that music on hold can be provided for the telephone system. Installation/configuration notes Power The mixer amplifiers come in 30, 60 and 120 Watt output power. This power is directly available on 100 V constant voltage connections and on a low impedance connection for a 4 ohm load. Moreover, the amplifiers have a separate 100 V call-only output channel for addressing areas where only priority announcements are required. The LC1 Modular Ceiling Loudspeaker range is designed for use in voice alarm systems and is EN 54‑24 certified and compliant with British standard BS 5839‑8. Protection The loudspeakers have built-in protection to ensure that fire damage to the loudspeakers does not cause failure of the connected circuit. In this way system integrity is maintained, ensuring loudspeakers in other areas can still be used to inform people of the situation. The loudspeakers can also be used in combination with a metal fire-dome to increase protection of the cable termination. On the loudspeaker are provisions for mounting the optional pilot-tone indication board and optional line/loudspeaker surveillance board. Power tapping on the 70 V / 100 V matching transformer allows selection of full-power, half-power, quarter-power and eight-power radiation. They are ideal for sports grounds, parks, exhibitions, factories and swimming pools. System overview The LBC 3481/12 is a circular horn loudspeaker, and the LBC 3491/12 is a rectangular model. Both are 10 W, and are made from ABS. The LBC 3492/12 is a circular, 20 W horn loudspeaker with a large horn measuring 354 mm in diameter. It is made from a combination of aluminum with ABS for optimum strength and low weight. The edge of the horn is covered with a PVC profile for protection against impact damage. The LBC 3493/12 is a circular, 30 W horn loudspeaker with a large horn measuring 400 mm in diameter. It is made from a combination of aluminum with ABS for optimum strength and low weight. The horns are water and dust protected. The horn loudspeakers include a 100 V transformer with taps on the primary winding to allow different power settings. Nominal full-power, half-power or quarter-power radiation (in 3 dB steps) can easily be selected by connecting the amplifier output to the appropriate tap. A 2 m four-core cable is fitted to the horns. Each core is a different color, and is connected to one of the primary taps on the transformer. The horn loudspeakers are supplied complete with sturdy adjustable mounting brackets, allowing the sound beam to be accurately directed. Certifications and approvals All Bosch loudspeakers are designed to withstand operating at their rated power for 100 hours in accordance with IEC 268-5 Power Handling Capacity (PHC) standards. Bosch has also developed the Simulated Acoustical Feedback Exposure (SAFE) test to demonstrate that they can withstand two times their rated power for short durations. The product warranty covers the material and workmanship of the products. Warranty terms and conditions are laid down in section B. A: PRODUCT WARRANTY Bosch Building Technologies (in the following “warranty provider”) provides a warranty to the final customer (consumer) under the conditions stated herein for a period of three years from the date of handover (Invoice date) that the products are free of defects in material and workmanship except for battery packs, headphones and ID cards, Screen protectors, ear pads for headphones and transport bags. ▶▶ For battery packs, headphones and ID cards, batteries the warranty is one year only. ▶▶ For Screen protectors, ear pads for headphones and transport bags no warranty is provided. ▶▶ For LCD panels up to 6 bright dots and 6 dark dots per panel are considered acceptable minor defects. The product warranty applies exclusively to Bosch Security Communication Products. B: WARRANTY CONDITIONS 1. GENERAL 1 . 1 Warranty is granted only to the final customer. Warranty does not apply to distributors, and installation companies or second-hand purchasers of the products. The warranty is transferrable to second customers as long as the products stay in the same installation (e.g. building or campus). Final customers are all par ties who have purchased products for their own needs (not for the purpose of resale) or who have purchased a building in which the products were first installed. The products must be installed in the communication system installation in which it was first operated except if the products are designed to be used in different locations (e.g. wireless conference systems). 1 2 Current installation manual available at www.boschsecurity.com 1. 2 This warranty shall exist independently of legal warranty claims against the vendor of the products irrespective of non-contractual claims. This warranty is an independent, voluntary and complementary service provided by Bosch Building Technologies to the final customer. It does not affect the quality agreements between vendor and purchaser. 1.3 This product warranty shall apply within the European Union or within a third country in which the product was first placed on the market by Bosch Building Technologies. Claims arising from or in connection with this warranty must be filed in writing within the applicable warranty period. An extension of the warranty period must be purchased as a separate service. 2. DISCLAIMERS / LIABILITY LIMITATIONS 2.1 This warranty is valid for normal and correct use and installation, and only under normal operating conditions. The warranty assumes that the performance of the product has not been reduced by actions or events outside the sphere of influence of Bosch Building Technologies, in particular: ▶▶ Modifications/damage as a consequence of force majeure (storms, hail, fire, power outage, lightning, flooding, snow damage, avalanches, frost, earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, plagues of insects and other detrimental effects by animals, acts of war, etc.) or damage caused by third parties due to vandalism and theft, ▶▶ unprofessional installation, commissioning, operation or improper removal and/or reinstallation of products (e.g. not in compliance with current installation manual1), ▶▶ use on mobile units such as vehicles, trains and ships unless this explicitly allowed and approved by the product installation manual or Bosch Building Technologies, ▶▶ impairment through external influences (e.g. dirt, smoke, salt, chemicals and other impurities), ▶▶ interconnection with modules made by other manufacturers unless explicitly allowed and approved in the product installation manual, ▶▶ defects of the system into which the product is integrated, Warranty conditions for Communication products ▶▶ insufficient ventilation. In particular the maximum temperatures according to the operating manual may under no circumstances be exceeded. 2.2 Furthermore, warranty claims will only be accepted if the products have been used according to their intended purpose and do not exhibit any signs of excessive wear and tear or external damage not reconcilable with normal use. The serial number and/or type label must not be damaged. All installation and operating instructions must have been closely followed. Adherence to the safety and warning notes contained therein and the permissible installation and operating conditions specified on the data sheet is a prerequisite for the acceptance of warranty claims. 2.3 Claims under this warranty may not be transferred to a third party. 4. IMPLEMENTATION/ENFORCEMENT OF THE GUARANTEE 4.1 All warranty claims must be submitted in writing to a certified partner or distributor. The Bosch Service Desk can provide you with a list of certified partners and distributors in your area. 4.2 The prerequisite for the acceptance of warranty claims is submission of the original bill of sale with the correct serial number on the bill to Bosch Building Technologies or a registration of the product at Bosch Building Technologies prior to the warranty claim. 4.3 Claims arising out of or in connection with this warranty must be asserted within three months of knowledge of the event giving rise to the claim. No consideration will be given to late complaints. The determining factor for compliance with the warranty time limit is timely receipt of notification. 3. SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE 3 . 1 In case of a warranty claim, Bosch Building Technologies shall, at its own discretion, replace the module with a functional module of the same type, remedy the defects or refund the price of the product. Should the type of product no longer be produced at the time of the warranty claim, Bosch Building Technologies shall be permitted to supply another type of product (different size, shape, color and/or technical data). 3.2 No other claims shall be derived from this guarantee. 4.4 All legal disputes arising from this warranty shall be governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. The UN Sales Convention (CISG) and conflict of law rules do not apply. 4.5 The customer shall only be entitled to return products with the prior written consent of Bosch Building Technologies.
