BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE AMAL FOR EDUCATION is an Italian non-profit organization founded in 2014 that carries out projects of humanitarian assistance, education and training, cultural activities, which have as beneficiaries children and Please briefly disadvantaged young people in Italy and abroad, especially in areas of conflict or in condition of social hardship present the partner and with particular attention to the Arab world. It plans, organizes and manages courses in Italy and abroad, organisation. training courses for educators, teachers, social and aid workers, catch-up courses, distance and e-learning courses, study groups, seminars, national and international conferences on issues related to their social purpose and to support children and adults in critical conditions and social disadvantage, courses for basic adult education, courses for children of all ages, literacy courses, professionalization and crafts. Amal for Education 's activities take place on a double track: a) development of open and intercultural educational and training materials characterized by innovation and technology-focused approaches and b) implementation of educational programs and management of training centres and courses addressed to target groups of activities (refugees, people in poverty or poor educational level, marginalized). For both activities Amal involves a coordination team made up of university professors from all over the world and volunteer groups of different backgrounds in a multicultural and multilingual context. Amal for Education and its members have a strong experience in the field of language, speech therapy and more specifically sign languages and deafness. Its members have participated to numerous projects in cooperation with the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies of the National Research Council (CNRISTC), Language and Communication Across Modalities Laboratory (LACAM), Sign Language and Deaf Studies Unit. The President and Founder of Amal for Education, Isabella Chiari is Professor of Linguistics in Sapienza University of Rome and is a lead scientist in the field of sign languages with several publications. Our organization has expertise in the field of speech, speech therapy, deafness, and therapy for children with cochlear implant.
