Battle of Hill Eerie
06 May 1952 - “BLAST
EERIE”
20th BCT was tasked to
secure the western area of
Chorwon and Hill Eerie is
within its sector.
As such it is incumbent for
the Battalion to always
secure the area
A team led by
LTC
DIOSADO
GARCIA,
Battalion
Operations
Officer
went
on
a
successful bunker-busting
and demolition operation
on Eerie and hills above it.

CLASH ON EERIE”
Early Morn Patrol led by
Cpl Danton Cabiles and 6
men encountered the
Chinese that manned
Eerie. The first clash
happened with 1 Filipino
soldier wounded and 1
enemy killed

CLASH ON EERIE”
On 1030H the Hill Eerie
was pounded by indirect
fire followed by the assault
led by LT JACINTO GUINTO
and his Platoon. Chinese
troop resisted. The platoon
withdrew
with
one
wounded.

CLASH ON EERIE”
On 1330H Softening-up
artillery pounded Hill
Eerie. Followed by the
assault of LT RODULFO
MAESTRO and his platoon
which was divided into 2
groups (2-pronged assault)
that attacked the eastern
and western paw. The
enemy was annihilated
and no losses to the
platoon.
Eerie
was
conquered.

REVENGE”
Early morning, the platoon
of Charlie company led by
LT LEOPOLDO B REGIS
while on patrol in Hill Eerie
encountered the Chinese
forces. This resulted in a
total of five wounded
including LT Regis and one
missing in action (Cpl
Molina), 14 KIA to the
enemy side.

19 May 1952 – “CHINESE
REVENGE”
At 1430H, the Recon
company led by LT CEZAR
BATILO and LT APOLLO
TIANO
with 24 men
conducted
rescue
operation of Cpl Molina.\
At 1554H, the Filipino
started to assault the
enemy position and ended
at 1600H. Result of
operation 9 KIA to enemy
side, Filipino side two
wounded in action.

POINTER LEADS FIGHT”
On 0330H, a Task Force made
of five squads (including 1
Search Team, an Engineer
Demolition
Squad
ad
complemented with medics)
of Recon Company led by LT
FIDEL V RAMOS and LT
ARMANDO DIZON to conduct
search and rescue operations,
concealed themselves from
village ruins and ditches.
On 0530H, started the
pounding of indirect fire to the
enemy position in Hill Eerie.
On 0625H-0645H, Air strike
and dropping of napalm bomb
and 1000 pound bombs by
bomber plane

21 May 1952 – “WEST
POINTER LEADS FIGHT”
On 0648H, Taskforce started
to climb in the enemy position
in Hill Eerie.
On 0715H, Taskforce split into
three groups and started to
assault enemy positions in the
eastern,
western,
and
northwestern sides of the Hill.
Also the Engineer unit conduct
demolition job in the enemy
position.
On 0729H, The Filipino troops
withdrew in the Hill Eerie
beating the 39th Red Army.
