1. Study the following table:

Rules for drawing up a table:

The table must have a heading which accurately describes the contents of
the table. It is usually written below the table.
Table must be framed.
Rows and columns must be ruled with a ruler.
The information in the first column must relate to the information in the
whole row.
When drawing up a table of data, the first column must be the independent
(input) variable. In other words, the values in the second column must
depend on the values in the first column.
If units are used in the table, they must appear in the column heading (in
brackets) and not in the body of the table.

3. Read the following information about three Roedean School boarders.
JANE is thirteen years old and lives in Durban. She likes to read and her home
language is English. She is in Lower V.
THANDI is in Lower V and comes from Umtata. She speaks Xhosa and is 12
years old. She enjoys watching TV and listening to music.
SIPHO likes playing tennis and speaks English and Xhosa. She is in Middle V and
is fourteen years old. She lives in Pretoria.
In the space below, draw up a comparative table using all the information provided
about the three pupils. REMEMBER TO USE YOUR RULES OF TABULATION.

tabulation rules to draw a table comparing the plant and animal cells in the
space below.
