CASS TEST CHAMBER as per following specifications.

Performance : To carry out CASS Test as per IS 5528: 1985

Temperature range : +50C ±1C (without refrigeration system)
Perfect Operation of the chamber is only guaranteed at an ambient temperature of +18°C to +28°C.
The performance and accuracies are in steady state condition without samples/specimens at an ambient
temperature of +23°C(±2°C).

Humidity : Saturated Condition.

Fog collection : Between 0.5 to 2 ml per hour

Construction : The chamber will be fabricated out of anticorrosive material and the interior is of 6mm
thick FRP sheet. Exterior is of 6 mm thick PVC sheets all over.
Top opening lid will be provided of acrylic/polycarbonate sheet of suitable thickness. Top lid will be
tapered at 110° to avoid falling of condensation on the item under test. Inspection lamp will be
provided located on the top lid. Water seal will be provided for the chamber door to rest to avoid
leakage of salt fumes, if any.
Control panel will be provided which will house the ON/OFF switches, indicating lamps, temperature
indicator controller, fuses, contactors, MCBs, etc. with wiring as per IS code. The wiring will be channel
type wiring using suitable current rated copper wires. The chamber will be floor mounting type with
castors.
Indirect heating system with wall heaters embedded in walls will be provided with thermostat to achieve
the temperature in the work space. The heaters will heat the wall and then the wall will heat the work
space.

Preheater :
Preheater will be provided to preheat the air before it is admitted to the air saturator
tower with thermostat and is housed on the right hand side below the control panel.

Humidity system/Air saturator tower: Air saturator tower will be provided to saturate the air. The air
saturator tower will be provided with air inlet and outlet connections, water connection with automatic
refilling system and air bubbling arrangement with filter. The air will be bubbled through the air
saturator tower before it is admitted to the nozzle to ensure full saturation of the air being supplied to
the spray nozzle. Air saturator tower will be provided with thermostat to control water temperature.

Spray nozzle : Spray nozzle, made out of glass will be provided to give uniform fog collection rate.
A) 1500mm L x 600mm W x 500mm D (450 ltrs)

Air Filter Regulator : To control the air pressure and ensure clean and oil free air to the spray nozzle, an
air pressure filter regulator with micro filter and activated carbon filter will be provided. Compressed air
will be provided by you at inlet of Air Filter Regulator.

Instrumentation:
Dual loop Self-tune microprocessor based PID temperature humidity controller will be provided with PT
100 as temperature sensor for indication and control of temperature & humidity with direct RH display.
The controller will be L7T make. 4.3” Touchscreen will be provided as interface to the controller. The
Tocuhscreen will be mounted in front next to the chamber so all the data can be seen standing near the
door.
b)
Solid state relay for control of heaters.
Calibration certificate with traceability certificate will be provided.

Control Panel & Wiring : Control panel will be provided which will house the temperature indicator
controller, Mains On/Off switches, fuses, contactors, indicating lamps, etc. All the wiring will be as per
IS code.
Channel type wiring will be done with suitable current rated copper wires with marking
ferrules and crimped dowel terminals.

Utilities :
Salt Solution tank of 50 liters and water storage tank of 50 liters will be provided.
The corrosion test chamber will be provided with PVC rod for hanging the components as well as PVC
racks with 15 deg. and 30 deg. angles for mounting the panel for testing. Beaker and measuring
cylinder will be provided for measuring of fog collection.
Inspection lamp located on the top lid frame.
Electronic timer to ON/OFF Spray after elapsed time.



Safety protection :
Back up fuses protection for mains and individual circuit.
Over temperature safety cut off thermostat with audio visual alarm.
Water level controller with automatic refilling arrangement for air saturator tower.


