The big plus to this file type is the versatility across platforms it will work on a Windows computer just as seamlessly on a Mac. Pros Compatible with most popular media players. Compatible across platforms Android, iOS, and Windows. Low file size. Cons Uses lossy compression The AVI (Audio Visual Interleaved) file was developed by Microsoft also in the late 1990’s it’s been around since Windows 3.1. Like MOV it is very versatile across platforms. The AVI files size tend to be slightly smaller than MOV files Pros Easy to convert DVD’s to digital format. Good audio quality. Plays across a variety of platforms. Cons. File sizes can be sizable if not compressed. Over compression can cause loss of audio and video quality. Conclusion.
