Reference API 653 ASME Section V Procedure ISS/ANDT/TMFL/GP/001, Issue-1, Rev-4 Floor map 3Di-MR Operation Manual Calibration Calibration of the MFL unit was obtained by utilizing a plate of similar material and thickness with artificial defects to facilitate in establishing operating sensitivity and system linearity. Limitations Floormap-3Di-MR signals do discriminate between top and bottom surface originating defects separately. Welds & areas under pipe inlet/outlet have not covered by this inspection (MFL). Floor Cleanliness The floor had been cleaned to a sufficient standard to allow a meaningful inspection to take place. Plate Numbering System Scanning was begun from south east side. MFL Results 65 bottom plates were scanned by Floor Map 3DI-MR equipment and metal loss of 40% and above location are cross verified by manual UT and locations are clearly marked at site. Row’s identification was marked from south to north direction and plate’s identification was marked from east to west direction, respectively. Bottom Plate Results: - Total No. of locations identified by MFL & UT 137 on Bottom plates. (MFL & UT Reports Attached) The X / Y co-ordinates and the corrosion severity was confirmed by ultrasonic inspection and found the same. UT Corrosion Results Since the critical zone is not covered using MFL Technique, manual UT was done throughout the critical zone and SUMP (Shell-Bottom). UT report is attached along with the report as well as with UT reading for Bottom plates. (See the attached) Max Defect per Plate Individual Plate Drawings: An image of the tank floor surveyed is shown with each plate color coded to the maximum material loss detected by the Floor map 3DiM-R inspection. This drawing is used to quickly identify areas of concern in the tank floor. Drawings of plates that have defect indications in excess of 40% loss of the nominal plate thickness have been printed out. The location and severity of any corrosion indication in excess of 40% loss is shown on the attached plate drawings. Non-Relevant Indication During the scanning, non-relevant indications may have appeared because of surface dirt, plate overlap, electronic noise, weld scars, grinding marks, spatter etc. These shall be neglected.
