Nike GO FlyEase, A Pair of Hands-Free Shoes

Nike is a company that has always been a top innovator in the sports shoe
market. They've created new running shoes, basketball shoes and even found
new ways to make shoes more comfortable and better for our feet. Their
products are usually made with athletes in mind, but their newest shoe: Nike Go
FlyEase, was actually made for disabled people.
Eight years ago, a teenager named Matthew Walzer wrote to Nike about a
problem he was having. Matthew has cerebral palsy and always had to have
someone tie his shoes for him. His dream was to go to college someday and not
have to worry about finding someone to tie his shoes for him. Nike was inspired
by Matthew's letter and started designing the new shoe right away.
Nike Go FlyEase is a shoe without shoelaces. The shoe works in the same
way that many people already put on and take off their shoes. That is, they push
their foot into the tied shoe when putting it on, and hold one shoe down with one
foot while taking the other foot out. This shoe is not only great news for disabled
people everywhere, but also for people living in countries where removing your
shoes before entering a house is part of the culture.
