DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY
1.
1-Minute Push-Up
Push-ups should be performed only with hands and the toes in contact with the floor at the starting position, hands
should be placed either side of the chest and back and should be kept straight, the chest should be lowered towards
the floor, reaching the same level each time, either till the elbows form a right angle or the chest touches the
ground. Push-ups will be done as many times as possible for the one-minute duration, repetitions will be counted
by instructor.
2.
1-Minute Sit-Up
Sit-Ups will be performed in a supine position, with the knees bent and feet flat on the floor, the hands will be
placed on either side of the head with fingers over the ears, without unnecessary pulling of the neck. The
participants will then elevate and curl up their trunk until elbows have made contact with their legs, the movement
will then be reversed until the shoulder blades have touched the mat, additionally, the feet of the participant will be
secured by an external object to prevent the feet from raising. Participants will be required to do as many as
possible within their minute time span, repetitions will be counted by the instructor.
3.
Wall-Sit Test
The Wall-sit test will be performed with the participant against the wall, having the feet flat on the floor and
shoulder width apart, there will be a 90-degree angle between both upper and lower leg, shoulders will be directly
against the wall and arms will hang straight down, the participant will be required to hold this position for as long
as possible/ until absolute failure.

Infection- Social
distancing.
Overall risk factor:
Control
References
Participants should receive health
history questionnaires (HHQ) and
consent forms remotely where
possible. If the participant is
external the Covid-19 specific
section of the HHQ, should be
completed 14 days, 7 days and 1
day prior to entering the facility.
We encourage students to get
tested twice weekly and if they
display symptoms, they are to not
attend and get tested as per
government guidelines.
Government guided social
distancing where possible will be
enforced. With appropriate signs
and markings on the floor to
guide. Rooms to have windows
open with additional ventilation.

Correct PPE is given, with people
working side by side or back to
back where possible to minimise
face to face contact. Minimise the
number of testers in the room,
with only one tester breaking
social distance if possible.
Ensure any equipment used has
been wiped down before and after
testing. Correct cleaning and
handling procedures are adhered
to according to the laboratory
code of conduct. Cleaning stations
and hand sanitiser should be used.
Minimise shouting where
possible. If participant
encouragement is needed make
sure correct PPE is worn. Face
coverings to be worn at all times
in any laboratory facility.
Exercise is an aerosol generating
procedure so appropriate
mitigation measures are in place
to minimise risk such as correct
PPE, social distancing, cleaning
before and after exercise,
ventilation and minimising group
sizes.

Additional Controls
Controls will adapt to the government alert
system.
Likelihood of contracting COVID-19 will
depend on weekly number of cases and will
adapt with the government alert system
