Explain comprehensively the difference between portrait and caricature. (5 points) Portrait. Portrait drawings typically involve the pure profile and the three-quarter profile. A portrait is an illustration of a photo that can range from just next to visual art to a portrayal of the person based on the style of technique used. Caricature. A caricature is a drawing of a real person which distorts or exaggerates certain features, but still retains a likeness: in other words an exaggerated piece of portrait art. A caricature can be a photograph, a full figure, or a freehand drawing of the individual of been showcased with a distinctive feature and can either blown out of proportion or exaggerated feature. The difference between a portrait and a caricature would be that a portrait is a drawing or other picture of a person particularly the head and shoulders, whereas a caricature is a visual depiction of those in which distinct features are drawn dramatically for comic effect. 2. Why is pencil the most important tool in drawing? Whenever it comes to pencils, every artist has a favorite brand. A pencil is one of the most essential tools for anyone who draw. This is the main tool for making curved lines. Drawings instruments can be used to test and layout illustrations, as well as to enhance the accuracy and pace with which standard drawing elements are created. Pencils and erasers are used to indicate the illustration material. Other techniques, such as clean lines, aide the operator in trying to draw clean lines or in repeatedly drawing complex parts.
