AzNHS initiates basic journalism training, teachers participate Mark Joseph S. Ariola To learn, to relearn, and to upskill documentation skills among teachers, Azpetia National High School launched the opening program of Enhancing Documentation of Best Practices and School Reports through Basic Journalism Skills: An In-Service Training in News Writing, Headlining and Photojournalism on February 14, 2022. The first day of training was held at Home Economics Building, Azpetia National High School, Azpetia, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. This was attended by all teachers of the said school through face-to-face modality. The event started with an opening prayer given by Mrs. Ayra Mae A. Gallo, Filipino Teacher and was followed by an energizer led by Mrs. Jillan Rae C. Simogan, English Teacher. The acknowledgment of participants was initiated by Mrs. Angeli Bacalso, Filipino Teacher while the master of the ceremony was Ms. Zandrea Kaye P. Pojadas, English Coordinator. Mrs. Venus D. Bajao, Principal III, gave her statement of purpose during the event. She emphasized that teachers should learn the basic journalism skills specially for documenting the important events. “Teachers must learn these basic journalism skills regardless of what kind of major you have,” Mrs. Bajao said. Participants observed minimum health protocols during the opening ceremony. The training event will run for two days.
