SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT- PERFORMANCE TASK 2
PHYSICS GRADE 7- QUARTER 3
Competency: Create and interpret visual representation of the motion of objects such as tape charts
and motion graphs. 9S7FE-IIIb-3)
Direction: Create your own tape chart by interpreting the situation. Write your answer on the
space provided for.
Situation:
You are a Private Investigator assigned to investigate a “hit and run” case. The
suspect was captured by CCTV camera driving down the road leading to the place of
incident. The suspect denied the allegation, he said he is driving very slowly with a
constant speed. When you are viewing the scene on camera, you notice this car
leaving an oil spot on the road. When you checked this oil spot on the road it is still
evident. So, you begin to wonder if the spots can be used to investigate the motion
of the car of the suspect and check whether he was telling the truth or not.
Here is an activity that you can do to help you with your investigation.
Materials: strips with dots which represent the "oil drops" left by the car down the road, as
shown in the figure.
https://brainly.ph/question/14865101
Procedure:
1. Label each dot in the figure from 0, 1, 2, 3, and so on. In the figure, each dot occurs every 1
second.
2. Photocopy the strips (or prepare similar strips) in Figure 4, then cut the strips at each drop,
starting from the first to the last drop. Paste the cut strips side by side on Figure 3 in order to
form a tape chart.
3. Answer the guide questions.
