Prelim Period: My Notes and Reflection Name/Section: Nicole B. Coca/ ACCTG 016-ACTCY22S4 Date: Feb. 09, 2022/ Time: 8:00-10: AM /Module 2 Topic: Presentation of the Financial Statements The most intriguing feature of this course, in my opinion, is that it introduces me to all fundamental aspects of accounting that I was previously unfamiliar with. The course examined accounting from the perspective of the various standards that accounting should adhere to. I was able to become acquainted with it and expand on the information I gained in earlier accounting classes such as Intermediate Accounting 1 (Accounting 017) and Intermediate Accounting 2. (Accounting 018). What I enjoy about the way this course is conducted in this online class is how systematic it is, which makes it easy for students to adjust to. I enjoy how we are putting what we learned during the conference into practice and putting it into action through collaborative activities. I was able to share my understanding of the subject and also learn from the perspectives of my peers. On the other hand, the modules contained in this course are highly summarized in a way that students can simply comprehend and study them, but it also encourages students to read the accompanying book for a more in-depth explanation. For me, the most difficult topic in the training was preparing the Statement of changes in equity. This proved to be challenging for me because the technique for preparing it required numerous retrospective revisions and restatements during which I may easily make a mistake. I was unable to grasp how to remedy the statement of changes in equity errors despite having mastered all of the necessary fundamentals. However, I attempted everything on my own to study the subject, including viewing instructive videos on YouTube and searching online for exercises to evaluate the material I learned. This increased my appetite for additional learning and my ability to think creatively about new approaches to learning. Additionally, the professor in this course is understanding and highly creative in her approach to teaching students how to learn independently from topics, such as by assigning collaborative projects in which students assist one another in learning. Additionally, she encouraged us to read the book, which we appreciate. For that, I am grateful to her because she taught me to be a better student and to study diligently because the information is the key to success in our future careers. Despite the fact that I am late for this course and missed two conference meetings during this prelim time, my professor assisted me in catching up quickly and preparing to learn with my other classmates. Although I am aware, I am weak as a student, as my grades in this preliminary time are insufficient. I will make every effort to obtain the required knowledge about this course and to increase my practice on exercises.
