ED U TI N LINUX LOGIC CONTROLLER EMBEDDED PCI-104 CONTROL SYSTEM N The RMU is an open, integrated platform for automation and process control, based on Power PC™ and Linux technology. Logic flexibility, based on C/C++ running on Linux, is now limitless compared to traditional PLC systems. In addition, each component in the control and I/O network can provide local web browser based diagnostics for fast debug and validation. The RMU redefines with simplicity, open and distributed control architectures for equipment and process automation. With large numbers of on-board I/O and expandability over Ethernet, the RMU is a robust and rugged system that can be used for factory automation control, data acquisition, and process monitoring. RMU is configured with a robust Linux environment, and all necessary functions to begin rapid development of your application. MKS provides the driver and code examples to get your application running quickly. O W W W . M K S I N S T . C O M Automation & Control Solutions RMU Applications • Up to 96 DIO points and up to 64 analog input points and 32 output points for high speed process critical applications • I/O cards are PCI-104 compliant, with either (24) digital or analog points per slot • Peripherals include Dual Ethernet, USB, CompactFlash, (4) Serial ports, CAN port, Display • Freescale MPC5200 @ 400 MHz, 16MB Flash, 128 MB SDRAM • Open PCI-104 I/O architecture allowing for the use of third party peripheral cards • Expand using Ethernet I/O and CAN functionality • Single, compact package, configured for your requirements • Distributed, real-time automation controller with remote I/O • Distributed, real-time process controller with remote I/O • Data monitoring of remote processes, with factory server data integration • Provides interactive operator control interface or HMI using graphical web pages • Connect non-networked facilities equipment for instant data integration (with SenseLink Software) D IS C Features & Benefits Open Control Architecture The RMU core resides in a 4 x 4 x 2.5” space and consists of the power supply, CPU and peripherals. The unit is then expanded with up to 4 I/O cards, each adding 0.6” of width. The package is completely factory configured, so you need only 1 part number to purchase. I/O cards utilize a modular PCI-104 bus, which allows users the flexibility to add 3rd party cards, in addition to standard MKS I/O cards. Each unit mounts on 35mm DIN rail. The RMU is an open, integrated platform for process control and data monitoring, all in one package. Dual Ethernet ports allow independent remote I/O control network and additional up-Link to the LAN or WAN network. The RMU also has 4 serial ports RS232/485, USB port devices such as memory sticks, CompactFlash for data storage and a CAN port for communicating with CAN devices. All software is preloaded and configured for data monitoring right out of the box. On power up, the unit is immediately collecting data. Users can log in using the web browser interface to view data or make changes to the data collection and alarming configuration. D IS C RMU is configured with a robust Linux environment, and all necessary functions to begin rapid development of your application. In addition, third party Linux applications may also be integrated. Drivers and example code are provided for user access of all built-in devices.
