WHAT IS CMS?
A content management system (CMS) is an application that is used to manage
content, allowing multiple contributors to create, edit and publish. Content in a CMS is
typically stored in a database and displayed in a presentation layer based on a set
of templates like a website.
Content creation, allows users to easily create and format content
Content storage, stores content in one place, in a consistent fashion
Workflows, assigns permissions for managing content based on roles such as authors,
editors and admins Publishing, organizes and pushes content live
WHY CMS?
One major advantage of a CMS is its collaborative nature. Multiple users can log on
and contribute, schedule or manage content to be published. Because the interface is
usually browser-based, a CMS can be accessed from anywhere by any number of
users.
The second major advantage of a CMS is that it allows non-technical people who
don’t know programming languages to easily create and manage their own web
content. The drag-and-drop editors of a typical content management platform allows
users to enter text and upload images without needing to know any HTML or CSS
(programming languages).
FULL-TEXT INDEXING & SEARCH
-full-text indexing and search engine (in this document Search engine) is enterprise
search platform designed to be used in the shared hosting. It is pure PHP application
and does not require standalone full-text search server.
-Search engine is well integrated into CMS as well as it allows easy to create various
search indexes that fits customer needs. Low cost of ownership based on very cheap
shared hosting targets small business companies also it is very important for bigger
enterprises too.
MPEG-7
MPEG-7 is a multimedia content description standard.
. MPEG-7 specifies the description of features related to the AV content as well as
information related to the management of AV content. As illustrated in Figure 1, the
scope of the standard is to define the representation of the description, that is, the
syntax and the semantics of the structures used to create MPEG-7 descriptions. For
most description tools, the standard does not provide normative tools for the
generation nor for the consumption of the description
FULL-TEXT INDEXING & SEARCH FEATURES
Indexing. Site pages, plugin data or other external items may be indexed.
Search. Search can be done using keyword, phrase ; Index may be browsed by
words in A-z order like in library system.
MPEG-7 FEATURES
•Shape and localization features
•Motion feature
•Texture feature
•Visual features
•Color feature
PROBLEM STATEMENT
•full-text indexing and search availability for non expensive systems that was not
possible using Apache Solr or Elasticsearch yet for their high cost .
• Apache Solr or Elasticsearch (both are based on Apache Lucene) are standalone
full-text search server with servlet container which are difficult to set up on cluster
based environment.
•Scalable issues especially when the index grows in size with millions of documents.
•The Boolean scoring model could be better.
•Difficulty to manage information.
•Large scale AV content is difficult to manage.
•Difficulty to find , select , filter what is needed.

OBJECTIVES
Devolve content creation throughout the institution regardless of contributors skills
Provide security governance and approval processes over the needed content
Enable the creation, management, and usage of standardized metadata
Continue to support a diverse array of existing technology platforms
Consolidate the current technology environment wherever possible
Improve the quality of Monash web sites through the implementation of standards
across presentation, metadata, governance, discovery, and navigation
OBJECTIVES (MPEG-7)
Standardize content-based descriptions for various types of audio-visual information,
allowing quick and efficient content identification, and addressing a large range of
applications.
MPEG-7 should represent information about the content ("the bits about the bits")

LITERATURE SURVEY(SCIENTIFIC PAPERS)
After Studying The latest Researches On CMS we found that :
Theoretical framework: A framework is developed for understanding the success is
impacted by factors related to information systems.
LITERATURE SURVEY(QUESTIONNAIRE ANALYSIS)
Do you want the business owners have control over content update to website?
Many participants answered saying that they definitely want their content owners control over
content updating to website.
• Do you want the content management be independent of technical team? 99% has
answered yes.
• Do you want the content to go through a process before getting published? 92% answered
that the content requires to go through workflow and review process.
• Does your project fund is spent more to content management?
88% answered that, their fund is mostly used for website maintenance after the
implementation phase.
The survey was made available online and distributed via e-mail to the 50 recipients on Jan
30 2016. Reminders were sent on October 10 and October 18, and the survey was closed on
Feb 15, 2016. Out of 50 recipients, 47 responses were received. Some of those responses
SURVEY ON THE FEATURES THAT CMS PROVIDES
COMPARED TO TRADITIONAL WEBSITE MANAGEMENT:
Do you want the contents to be reviewed by set of users before published to website?
95% of respondents said yes to this as the contents are subject to error and needs
continuous reviewing before publishing.
• Do you want easy user interface with template forms rather than updating in the
server machine? 75% said they want this feature as it is easy to manage content
compared to traditional website management.
• Do you want to manage user through browsers instead of UNIX script?
