ActivPanel Touch 4 75” HD Firmware Upgrade Instructions
Please note, the firmware upgrade should only be performed upon the advice of
Promethean Technical Support and should be carried out by your IT personnel
or your reseller. Failure to follow the instructions could result in the ActivPanel
Touch 4 becoming damaged.
You will need:
ActivPanel Touch 4
USB Memory Stick
Firmware file
Ensure the model number of your ActivPanel Touch (located on the serial
number sticker) is AP4-75, if it is AP4-75-4K please contact Promethean
technical support. Continuing with the incorrect model number could cause
permanent damage to your ActivPanel.

Ensure you download the correct firmware for your specific ActivPanel
below, installing the incorrect firmware could cause permanent damage
to your ActivPanel.
If your serial number starts with: 75E90 Download this firmware file to
the root of a high quality FAT32 USB memory stick. This should be the
only file on the memory stick.
If your serial number starts with: 75E90K Download this firmware file to
the root of a high quality FAT32 USB memory stick. This should be the
only file on the memory stick.
With the ActivPanel Touch 4 turned on, insert the USB memory stick into the
MEDIA-USB port to confirm the media is recognised. A message should appear
on screen stating New external storage found, do you want to open MM Player? if it
is recognized. Press the onscreen cancel button to discard the message
Power off the ActivPanel Touch 4 using the power switch on the right hand side
of the device:
Disconnect all cables except the mains power cable.
With the USB memory stick still inserted into the MEDIA-USB port, press and
hold the left arrow button (volume down)
on the right hand side of the
device and power on the ActivPanel Touch by pressing the power switch to the
On position.
Still pressing the left arrow (volume down) button, after around 15 seconds you
should see the red ActivPanel LED begin to flash on and off, at which point you
can stop holding the button.
If the LED turns green, for some reason the firmware process has not started. In
this case, try downloading the firmware file to another USB memory stick and
repeating the process.
Once the process has started, it should take around 15 minutes for it to complete.
The screen will turn its self on and you will see a Promethean logo around 2
minutes into the process.
*Caution – Do not touch the ActivPanel Touch until you see the language
selection screen / New external storage found, do you want to open MM
Player? message.
When this screen / message is shown, the firmware upgrade has completed.
