Meet with S.H.M. and athletics captains re. trials, rules, team lists to be submitted by Wednesday 02 February 2022, trophies, clean-up after the meeting, correct age groups and training with allocated coaches. Invitations (Governing body & guests) – Mrs Isaacs and catering. (Refreshments for officials and meals for staff and officials) –Mrs Lombard. Event lists: check and list of apparatus to be used- Ms Sayiti First aid – Director to organise Announcer – Mrs. Isaacs Jr Seating arrangements to be organised. Lane drawing – As on starters programme. Letter to Guest of Honour to present trophies and medals. Co-Director Ms Sayiti to order flowers for Guest of Honour. Organise officials for meeting. Staff must organise their own helpers. Check clipboards – 5x field events, starter, place judge, announcer, lap counter, hurdles, and recorders. Confirm with outside helpers. Complete officials’ forms: starting height for high jump, weights for throwing events and rules for each event. Event Rules 1. 2. 3. Athletes may participate in four events plus a relay. Throws and jumps: All athletes have three attempts and thereafter only the best have three more attempts. Select your athletes according to the programme to avoid athletes taking part in more than one event at the same time. Spikes for a tartan track to be worn if available. No decorations, just the hostel banner. Track events have priority over field events. (The athlete must report to the field event before taking part in track event if the two events clash.) No one may cheer or motivate an athlete from the inside of the track. An athlete may only participate in his own age group. Captains to see to the tidiness of the grounds. Any request must go through Coach Kuda The best athlete will be awarded to the athlete with the highest average of points, over the four events, on the sponsor scoring table. Each house may only have one relay team. Athletes competing for their house in an event must be available for the school team in that event.
